The number was written on the board by the black guy and it was also handwritten for the reveal. The handwriting was the same.

haven't seen it posted itt but does anyone have any theories on how the guy made the audience member think of the word "brick". That was a pretty nifty trick

Seemingly all audience members of magic shows are pussies.

Hypnotists make a pretty good living relying on similar principles. Was funny when my mate went up one time and refused to do anything, the guy explained it not working very quickly by referring to him having a very focused mind and not being suggestible and the crowd jeered my mate lol.

conspiritard theory: P&T didn't expose the Swedish duct-tape around the head trick because they use the same principle in one of their illusions. Instead they chose to pretend to be fooled by the horrible fake switch move.

Ohh, I see when he gets the needles+string in his mouth. Right when he is putting the real string in his mouth you can see him palm the needles+string into his mouth.

I think there's some ambiguity around episode numbering, but if this means the sealed deck + Penn's name on the 7 of diamonds, then yeah, really good trick.

I like to think it's a little telling with regard to the Victorians from an earlier episode that Penn, upon mentioning a possible deck switch, said they've had hours and hours of meetings about what constitutes fooling them and whether seeing 'a move' is as good as seeing specifically what the move was.

there's zero guarantee that the farquhar routine was filmed after the victorian guys. i took that to mean a conversation before the show began.

Agreed, my first read on the trick was ugggh, so dull.
Spoiler:
The whole "Appearance" of the words to the mark "out of nowhere" while still a gimmick, is a lot more interesting than a word written on a hand.

Seeing how the performers did opening for P&T?

yes

fwiw they don't actually 'open', or at least, the 3 winners from the pilot didn't.

it's after the show, P&T tell everyone there's gonna be some english acts on and they can go or stay. plus the doors are opened up to anyone who wants to sit or stand at the back, and it's put on twitter.

some other interesting stuff i read this week :

- the frenchman dude's full trick was 12 mins long. he did a ton of sleight of hand stuff and bottle stuff. people say it was boring, i'd like to see it. i also know how it's done now. it is in that digitalspy thread if you want to read it, don't ask me for the exact link.

- that boring dude with the staple gun argued for ages and came across badly, which led to penn going on stage to demonstrate he knew exactly what he was talking about. also it's not even his trick, was one he bought (not that that is that rare on this show, but i thought i'd mention it).

I thought a few of the things the Frenchman did that made it on camera were a bit boring, if it really went 12 minutes I imagine it would've been pretty boring. That probably means that how he got the card in the bottle and the bottle in the sealed container was not shown then.

Thanks for clarifying what happens to the winners.
