Peaky Blinders - Page 4 - OOTV -- Two Plus Two Poker Forums

Can't help to think that the Italians were kind of a joke. They killed 1 Peaky I think and injured another, meanwhile the the Italians were getting slaughtered. Fun season but it was kinda amateur hour how they just got massacred. Brody gave me a few flashbacks to the Godfather days with the way he talked.

Agree 100%.
As awesome as Brody was, it was too obvious that all of his overly clever ploys would backfire. I find it hard to believe that they would have passed on killing Tommy, Polly etc. when they had their initial chances. Made for good TV drama but seems too unrealistic.

I want to like this show more than I do. Love the main actors and Hardy but I really think the pacing and plot lines are terribly off (more so with these last two seasons). I wish they would let some things simmer a little and give the characters more depth.

Brody was terrible in this last season. He was an overly strained Marlon Brando and it didnt work at all.

Surprised this thread doesn't have more responses. Despite my criticisms above, its one of the few shows I actually watch and thought it would fit 2+2's taste.

Have been watching up to the end of Season 2 after discovering this last weekend and love it. My only complaint is just that - it seems that nobody ever actually kills anyone outright, they all have schemes and then things get changed last minute.

I also don't understand how a group of gangsters can walk in to a race track, burn a bunch of paper and suddenly be in charge of the whole place gambling wise. Or just walk into a night club and beat people up and suddenly it's theirs. Why didn't the Italians just come back in and take it back?

On my 3rd rewatch and am still blown away by how good Helen McCrory is. Absolutely draws your eyes on screen. Between her, Cillian and Hardy the acting is phenom.

Alfie is just such an incredible character.

My elite level shows are The Wire, Sopranos, The Bureau and Peaky Blinders. Just love the show.
