Me too. I didn't know swearing is allowed on CNN.

You can say some curse words on TV as long as they're used as an adjective and not at their actual meaning.

Acceptable - We had to go through a lot of **** to get here.

Not Acceptable - You just stepped in a big pile of dog ****.

He said: "That is some good shyt, my friends". This would be unacceptable by the rules you pointed out.

No it wouldn't.

I can't remember the exact scene but assuming he was talking about food then it was used as an adjective and not talking about actual ****.

IIRC, there are no FCC rules against cable television, only network broadcasts. So they can put up any content (I believe as long as it isn't deemed explicitly pornographic) without fearing repercussions from the FCC.

This is not true. Only Premium Pay Channels like HBO are exempt from FCC regulations, because you have to pay for them to be brought into your home.

Not true. FCC does not enforce indecency and profanity for any level of satellite or cable. Obscenity is enforced against all broadcasters, including premium.

Btw Vice Magazine has a new show HBO that looks pretty awesome. The Vice guide to Liberia and N. Korea are insane. I imagine there would be a lot of crossover with Vice fans and Bourdain fans.

You don't know what an adjective is.

Subscribed. Big Bourdain fan but this isn't as good as NR for me. Will watch anyways, and also hoping for better episodes than Koreatown. Myanmar was cool and Congo etc should be pretty sweet if they do stuff like that.

Why not as good as NR? What is different? I personally don't see any significant changes, but would be interested in other opinions.

Thanks for mentioning this. I love Bourdain and I love Vice. I saw Shane Smith on Colbert not that long ago but he didn't mention this show or I wasn't paying attention. I'm looking forward to watching Vice and Parts Unknown.

I thought early No Reservations and The Layover was his best stuff. Centered more around actual food, awesome places to go and random locals. Basically Tony just rambling around eating, drinking, chatting and dropping truth bombs. The more detailed cultural/political stuff has less interest to me and No Res definitely grew to focus way more on that stuff as the years went by.

AB has nailed 2 stereotypes imo

1. Korean parents/etc are very demanding
2. Atlanta has a ton of strip clubs

Yea what Clark said, preferred early NR because more food/fun stuff, less serious business/politics.
