I had to miss a lot of personal faves that I think are perfectly fine on such a list like Game of Thrones, Babylon 5, Archer, Community, Terriers, Doctor Who, Buffy, Angel, Star Trek TNG, Farscape etc etc etc. Top 5 is almost too difficult to narrow down to.

I dont like the new seasons of the simpsons, the old ones are way much better. I dont know if they changed the writers or they changed there sense of humor.

What's the purpose of this thread, anyway? If you are looking for TV show recommendations, OP, from your list of preferences I would suggest popular dramas such as Mad Men, Game Of Thrones, The Wire, etc.

Also: Shark Week is quietly the best TV show to ever exist (besides the wire obv. also whose line is it anyway)

I'm just starting Breaking Bad and it's pretty good so far, but too early for list and probably wouldn't cut the Top 5 anyway. This also doesn't count sports, talk shows, cartoons, mini-series, news programs, or kids shows to make it easier on myself.

I feel a little dirty not getting Cheers on here.

btw, can anyone tell me what's so great about the sopranos? don't get me wrong, I really like it, but sometimes the eps are so slow and uninteresting that I almost fall asleep. I mean, I don't need one mob boss killed every ep or tony beating the hell of someone until their teeth are all over the floor. I just need some interesting, engaging stuff. like, there's one ep where tony and carmela spend the last 5 minutes of it making smalltalk while they eat breakfast, even though everything regarding the plot of the ep was closed from the start of the scene.

ps: I also really need to watch the wire and deadwood
