Couldn't agree more actually. Even though I enjoyed the finale at the time, i would have much rather had it appeal to my intellectual side rather than my emotional side, as that would have given me way more to think about afterwards. Kinda disappointing, even for someone who really enjoyed the finale.

yea it's weird. i liked the finale. every tuesday i felt like my team was in the Super Bowl, yet about 3 days after the finale aired i just flat out stopped thinking about Lost. i cant imagine me ever watching the entire series again like I said i would the next day.

I think I might go back and just watch the season premier and finale from every season, since those episodes were always amazing. But yeah, there's no chance I'd go back and watch everything.

The whole point was to go back and have a bunch of "aha" moments where you understood something completely only after having seen the entire series. I think I'd probably just have a lot of "well that was a pointless sub-plot" moments instead.

i havent gone back and listened to it to make sure its totally correct and whatever, but it starts in Dm and just goes

AD (chord, hold D) F#-A-F#-A-F#-AC# (chord, hold C#, here its F#m) F#-C# (hold this note for sweet, sweet sadness)

repeat (left hand doing Dm stuff for the first half then switching to F#m when the melody switches)

Then, basically do the same thing in G (except go DB, G-B, G-B, G-DB (Bm now) F#-D), etc

hope that helps lol

One thing I will never say anything bad about for Lost is the amazing music it had. I think that sucked me in a ton.

the LOST finale hit TC pretty hard. i'm guessing it ranks somewhere between Florida and LSU in terms of how bitter he is

In the sideways world, any win over Michigan makes a successful season.

Yeah, I really got suckered into believing. I wasted probably more time watching this crap than even what I do watching and reading about Ohio State football. It was pretty brutal to realize how badly I got bamboozled. I've just seen so many quality shows and movies in the past two weeks, it just amazes me looking back how bad Lost was. I watched The Shawshank Redemption today, and it was just absolutely beautiful. It's like every single line had purpose, every scene had a meaning. Incredibly touching story. And then Lost, which basically was just a series of red herrings and meaningless plot twists just for the sake of twisting the plot. It was absolutely fabulous at keeping you wanting more, but it was an absolute abortion of a story.

LSU wasn't as hard because I didn't expect much. I got a bit excited when we jumped to an early lead, but it sucked after that. I wasn't terribly surprised. I suppose it was like my opinion of the last 3 episodes, after I realized the show was a big turd waiting to get flushed down. But I had a glimmer of hope that maybe something good would come out of it. The start of the finale was just like putting 10 points on the board. Then I realized Todd Boeckman was the QB and the writers were the same crap ones as before.

Florida was a huge kick in the balls because I expected so much domination, and even started out so good. I actually got sick the day of the Florida game and was actually incredibly ill by the second half. I ended up leaving the bar then, got home and had a 103 fever. Missed about a week of work, everyone thought I was just depressed about the game or something. That team had kicked so much ass and been so dominant, it was much like the early seasons of Lost. It seemed that everything was being set up for a reason. My father passed away a few days before the start of that season. My last conversation with him was about getting tickets to the Texas game for him. I had the huge buildup of having them pull off one of the greatest seasons ever. The showdown with an undefeated Michigan team looked like it was a season of destiny. Of course, it all turned to crap real fast, much like Lost. If that season had been 6 years long, I suppose it would be similar to Lost. At least with the football game I was too sick to even watch it all. I wish I had gotten food poisoning every Tuesday night this year.

TC - my thoughts exactly on the LSU game.

i think i took florida as bad as anyone - i had a blog that season about the "greatest team to ever play college football" and after the florida game, it was like tearing my heart out of my chest. i had bought my plane ticket and booked two hotels in tempe months before the game and the jan 8 date was on my birthday. i paid $600 for a ticket and left in Q3. it was just awful.

i am very sorry to hear about your father - my condolences. some of my best memories with my dad are at osu games and tailgates. i was really lucky and got alum tickets to the osu/um 1v2 game and there was never a doubt in my mind that i'd be watching that game with my dad. to this day it remains the #2 moment in my life (behind the miami game, also with my dad)

here's to the memories you had with your father and to his memory. after the dust settles, family is all we have.

nick
