i'm willing to concede that but they've clearly been setting up the overall themes since the very first episode.

The last episode by itself I enjoyed greatly, but when you talk about "the ending" you have to include all of the flashsideways, because that's what was built up to make the ending what it was, and the ending did not in any way justify subjecting us to a season of that crap.
i always disliked the flash-whatever compared to the regular show so i guess i just didn't notice how comparatively bad they were this season very much. i actually liked wondering wtf was going on and was glad they didn't just do some ghey timeline merging and get all sci-fi on us. and thats coming from someone that used to read star wars books and dragonlance as a kid, lol.

Yeah, was thinking this myself. Daniel, Charlotte as well. Vincent lol. dont think he travelled, rose and bernard found him after jughead went off and they went back to the present.

Yeah that's what I think too. The scene where Jack stumbles out, Vincent lays down next to him, plane flash, eye close.

They showed Vincent with them in the 70s.

The thing that sucks is they definitely had some stuff planned for a while. The entire building of the Runway and Lapidus were clearly planned. It's a shame they couldn't do a better job with everything else.

The people who flashed off the plane were Candidates. The people who flashed when the island move were people who had only been on the island a short time.

Two very different things.

What happens to the plane when they flashed off, wasn't Faraday the pilot? That was the part where I got Lost.

The didn't flash on the plane IIRC. That flight "landed" on the runway.

OK it's been some time since the finale and after much pondering, I now know the answer to every mystery on this island...

...

Horrible writers who will throw in anything that they feel would boost ratings, whether it makes sense and can be explained or not.

This is why I loved the show when it was on but since seeing the finale, I hate it. The mysteries were what everyone enjoyed and what boosted their ratings. The sh*tty writers didn't give a f*ck about whether they could explain the mysteries, so long as people were entertained while it was on the air. They just kept piling on more and more mysteries with no desire to ever explain them all properly. We, the audience, were so addicted because so much weird sh*t was happening and kept watching to find out the answer.

I mean, it's even in that new Kick As* movie. "I don't want to die before I find out what was going on in Lost" or something like that. That's all we wanted; Answers!! But since the writers never even considered answering a lot of the mysteries that were presented, we are now left looking back on the show as a great ride with lots of anticipation for the finale, only to be disappointed when we find out that the writers are just lazy, money-hungry douchebags who don't give a sh*t about how people look back on the show so long as they had high ratings while it was on.

So to Lost and the writers: GO F*CK YOURSELF!! I'm done trying to figure out the hidden explanations behind this horrible show because there are none.

Jake, just watch the first season of Dexter or something so you can see what quality televisions shows are. I'll never go back to network shows.

Had a random thought in Barnes and Noble today.

Did any of you play the old PC game Myst in the 90s? Why did no one compare the two? I'd bet the creators must have played it.

Cool video that has the opening scene of the pilot episode playing in reverse along side the final scene of the finale playing forwards:
