I was having trouble with this, too. Sun and Jin were dead. Hurley didn't get off island (seemingly). Obviously Desmond is sort of on island right now.

I don't know where this is going in the next twenty minutes.

Either island stuff doesn't matter at all and alt-timeline becomes "real."

Or alt-timeline doesn't matter, and we wasted all this time in S6.

Seems like bad options. I'm sure they will give us something good.
