The Office - Season 7 The Office - Season 7

If you go back and watch the first few seasons and view them through the lens of how well the jokes would work if they were aired as new episodes today, you'd probably hate every one of them. It's not a fault of the writers, it's just that this kind of comedy relies on being fresh. I can't imagine how difficult it is for the writers to come up with new ideas that are actually funny after 7 seasons. I give them a ton of credit for wringing out the towel a little harder than usual last night to produce a quality episode with great timing and chemistry.

"Yeah I get it, Andy's slamming my girlfriend" and Kevin's laugh was hilarious to me for some reason

"She goes to a different school!" was great too

I actually think Oscar has consistently gotten better over the course of the series.

this episode was fantastic

"she goes to a different school" had me lol'ing as did creeds example of pda (actually surprised no ones mentioned it as the "creed killed it meme" is usually huge)

jim and pam were good, andy and erin were good, dwight was ok (worst of the ep), gabe had some nice moments

i dont really care much for michael/holly, im glad hes happy though and i hope they write him better and have less of his cringe-inducing/michael moments based on spite

oh yea kevin implying that oscar must hate michael/holly at the end was gr8 too

Jim plopping into the warehouse box and trying to coax Pam to join him for drunken sex while she walks away disgusted still makes me laugh in my head. Drunk Jim and Pam, ftw.

This is a very good example

Homer Simpson is another example.

Feel like it's THE example, my first thought as well.

Kinda funny people complain about this factor then people still love Kevins monkey ****, I feel like he, after Michael, is the character they've completely turned into an idiotic cartoon while before he was a sincerely slow funny character.

When watching the Kevin monkey bit, I had my weekly "surely not even the Kevin apologists in the 2+2 thread can find this anything but aggressively unfunny?" thought, but I guess I was wrong yet again.

Any chance this won't be the worst episode in series history?

Kevin has always been an idiotic cartoon character, he has always been the worst on the show until Erin came in.

To see how Kevin should have been done, see the UK version. In fact, to see how all the characters should have been done, see the UK version.

Pretty sure he wasn't a cartoon character during the basketball episode.

+9999999999

Like I've always said, there is not one US Office character that is better than their UK counterpart. Unless you count Pam being hotter than Dawn, which is definitely true, but Dawn was a much better and more believable character.

The awkwardness of when Ryan realizes Pam and Jim wanted to have sex in his office is underappreciated in this thread.

So Michael is gone in 1-2 episodes?

Also, how far in advanced do you guys think they film shows?

I'll have to rewatch the first few seasons, but still doubt even up to season 3 Kevin is anything like seminar running Kevin.

Gabe gained a lot of cool points in this episode. I have always liked Kevin, especially since the episode we found out he is a WSOP Bracelet winner lol can't remember which event but that cracked me up.
