I didn't think they could top last week's episode... but I think they just did.

One of the meaner episodes, not my favorite. Messing with kids is too easy, and it's clear the antique owner is a good person who knows it's an awful unethical idea, but she's too polite not to go along with the TV show. Not a great mark for Nathan. But I admit I did laugh when drunk sumo guy starts breaking stuff. And his parting plate break was great too.

It'd be fun to watch him turn fully evil. "Think of how well your taco stand would do if you didn't have any competition."

The photoshops were great. Especially when he shops the boy into a woman. Santa was pretty good. The guy walking through the aisle was hilarious. I was loling it up real good with the scene with the brother. And then the ending where he breaks a plate and pays for it was gold! Gold Jerry!

The women was a good person but I'm pretty sure the exposure couldn't hurt no matter how stupid Nathan's ideas were.

yeah thought that was a relatively weak ep
still a few laughs in it though, mostly at the age projection weirdo
edit: oh yeah and santa

hope they reimbursed the drunk guy after, otherwise that's just mean
(seemed like the money wasn't inconsequential to him)

I find the episodes where he toes the lines between sincerity and trolling more interesting; this one was fairly mean-spirited/trolly. There's plenty of other stuff out there mocking idiots; I think Nathan is at his best is when he makes you question what he's doing.

The age projection guy was pretty damn hilarious, though.

I can see how S3E4 could be polarizing, but I thought it was great.

What I like a lot is each episode can work on so many different levels - the Borat-level dedication to the idea, the goofy cartoon illustrations of the idea being executed, the level of detail they cover in executing the idea (like this week with the jacket he wore to ensure he didn't get drunk, or the things to ensure the balloons didn't pop), watching how Nathan can play the stoic figure all along, plus of course the characters, both the marks and the recurring folks. An episode can be great if maybe only half these things work; but when all of them are done to perfection (like with "The Movement"), it's comedy genius.

100% agree- I had to pause in the middle because it was so awkward.

Anyone get a count of how many times he had her repeat it?

Saw Nathan at the NY Comedy Festival show in Brooklyn last Friday. He came out strong singing Lana Del Rey's Born to Die, then said we were going to see an upcoming clip from the show. But first he had to demonstrate his anti-piracy solution, so he brought out a water cannon, then had a volunteer sit on stage and take out a prop cellphone provided by Nathan to pretend to record the screen, and he opened fire, soaking the kid from head to toe. He was nice enough to provide a change of clothes, which an assistant brought out in a trash bag. They held a sheet in front of the kid while he changed on stage. But of course Nathan kept things from getting too awkward by chatting with the kid as he changed clothes.

Then he fired up the hotel room box segment, which the live audience thoroughly enjoyed.

thought that was a relatively weak ep. the ideas were kinda flimsy, and they didn't get much play from any of them. probably why it ended up being a 3-for-1. had a few laughs, but overall somewhat meh.

hoping they're saving some good stuff for the end of the season here.

Man this episode is on fire. So much greatness in all of his ideas.

He admittedly was a bit heavy-handed in his ideas, and he is probably at his best when it's not such a force, but everything he did force was great. Him questioning the biker couple was hilarious, the pizza, the whole funeral setup was hilarious. Obviously his hotel idea was bound to fail miserably, but the length to which he went, and finding a family willing to allow their kid was amazing. Even when they wanted to be in the room until they realized what was actually about to happen was great. This was prob a top 5 for me.
