I'm sure this comparison has been made many times but he's this generation's Andy Kaufman.

Nathan's fake shocked face acting was hilarious.

Would have liked a bit more realism in the setup though. For example, less scripting with the cop, but I can see why that would be risky.

Was also surprised, like others, that this bit cost $350k, it didn't seem like it. The only thing I thought would cost more than usual was closing the road and hiring the cop, but even then I thought that part would be under $100k.

i remember watching that clip like a month ago, and i also remember thinking kimmel's laugh at the end was weird

my guess is he knew it was a bit!

i loved that the entire episode was him avoiding telling a lie so he doesn't get exposed like brian williams

Episode was impressive - so crazy that Kiki Dunst basically took all his story ammo. I'd have literally shart myself had I been him.

ya i think Nathan told him all about it, because after the story was over Jimmy just lol'd and said "you're a maniac" or something iirc

was Dunst in on it too? kinda weird that her stories touched all the same bases...

Holy **** he rehashed the bit on Seth Meyers last night. Probably the hardest I've laughed in many moons.

I love that he loses his composure slightly during the interview.

Thought this ep was weak btw. Hard to watch at times.

that Seth Meyers appearance was pretty great

not sheriff he did a good job selling the bit or legit didn't want him to tell the story again

either way, amazing

I laughed way too hard each time the smoke alarm went off during the song.

Having a rando masquerade as a Shell PR guy was amazing and I thought the final showdown between fake Shell guy and attractive band guy was gonna be gold, but didn't really come off.

The main lady who ran the shipping company was kinda lame and didn't really provide any interesting reactions.

i love when they do the over-the-shoulder shot of nathan looking at the wikipedia page for "international trade law" while he narrates like, "i did some in-depth research"

I loved it. Getting the guitar player to play smoke alarm ("don't you want to be famous?"), all the "I'm a music producer" outfits, the obvious conclusion that in order to rebrand smoke alarms as a musical instrument he needs to fake a public Shell event in Tracy, CA, hiring some guy who thinks he works for Shell (and decking out this interview trailer in fake Shell posters) - so many great details

The logic of giving the guy with the most musical talent the smoke alarm was great.
