There's a freaking disclaimer at the beginning of every episode stating that they change scenes, characters, names, events etc.

It's not a documentary, it's a show.

Just watched both seasons and really liked the whole style of the show. I'm not big on the whole subject matter (only roughly knew who Escobar was) , even almost bailed after 20 minutes, the subtitles are always a pain, but the show had an interesting vibe.

The actor playing PE was great - every line he spoke was like the core of the show imo.

I didn't mind the narration at all, thought it actually added to the show, but I really hated the acting of the guy doing the narrating (Steve) the more the show went on. He just seemed like a bad actor who overplayed some weird cynical/cool attitude. Also, the entire presence of his wife was pointless to the story - and she was a horrible actress or she got terrible lines. I hated every second between her and Steve.

One question - it seemed to take them forever to find PE once he left his prison, but it felt like his "guys" were all over the city and they could have staked out one place, waited for one of them to surface, and follow him back to PE. One scene they even saw his driver Limon, but went after a "bigger" name. The whole capturing and torturing seemed like the hard way to get to PE.

Spoiler:
I wonder how factual it was regarding PE killing the police chief himself, killing the one guy with a pool stick at the prison, etc.

Escobar did not kill the Colonel. It is true that Martinez was summoned from a post in Spain to take over the detail, but it was not because the prior person in charge was killed.

Escobar did kill Moncada and the other guy at the prison. That was really the straw that broke the camel's back as far as the Gov't. was concerned - they could no longer look the other way at Pablo running his operation from the prison.

Escobar was on the run for 18 months after fleeing the prison.

I agree, not even sure I'll watch - this show was basically the Pablo Escobar Story imo.

Wagner Moura reminded me of James Gandolfini

I loved season 2. Better than season 1 IMO although both seasons were great.

Not sure what to think of the future seasons. It won't be the same without Pablo but I guess I'll watch it anyway since these showmakers seem to know what they're doing.

The narcos FB page is pretty funny. They respond to most comments people make and they are hilarious.

Goes over a lot of this stuff, but super deep. Author is amazing, he's the one in hiding after writing Gamorrah.
Read this on your rec, ty. The author was a bit all over the place, but the content was unreal and is a must read for any narco story fans. It was refreshing the way he presented the content without going bat **** over board like so many authors do.

Wee, happy to watch this. Expectations aren't super high, but should still make for entertaining 10 hours of TV.

Watched it all. Like it. I thought that Pena will hook up with the the beautiful woman in the USA embassy. IDK who is the person who spoked to Pena at the end about Mexico.

Watched first 5 episodes in one night, show delivers. I'd say it's actually better as a show now, it relied too much on Pablo's charisma / incredible Escobar backstory before and the writing was a bit sloppy at times. Plus it's bene really good to get rid of Murphy and his super tilting USA#1 accent.

I was rooting for Miguel Rodriguez and against Salcedo by the end of the season tbh

His dad, the season started with them talking about Peña going back to Colombia.

Watched it all, solid season imo. Writing was much better than before for the most part and in many ways s3 was actually better than 1-2. Some oddly illogical stuff in the last couple of eps, but especially the first 8 or so were a really enjoyable watch.
