I'm surprised at how positive the reviews in this thread generally are. I'll finish watching and the latter half of the season has definitely been stronger, but for me the show is a lot closer in quality to Marco Polo than some of the better stuff that has come out recently.

LOL at El General thinking Pablo wouldn't dare to do anything to the Vice Minister of Justice. That whole scene was laughable to me.

Just finished it. I really enjoyed it, the narration didn't bother me as much as it did everyone else apparently. I didn't think they needed to speed through 20 years of events in 1 season though, they could have slowed down and given us a 3-4 season series instead of what will be a 2 season series.

Anyone else think it odd how much time they spent on showing how much Escobar loves his family? The good guys don't really get the same treatment...good show, though...enjoying it.

Finished the show today, loved it as well. The lead actor is amazing in making us feel for Escobar even though we know he's a (really) bad guy. The scene where he leaves his family behind and says goodbye to his wife/kids (around ep7 i think) almost got me feeling sorry for him.

I feel like this is how the real Escobar would be too. Ruthless, killer and psycho, but also able to make you feel like he really loves you, cares for you and has a heart.

It's hard to explain, but yea, great acting by him. Blond police guy is average, brown police guy is ok. The rest of the cast kinda fades away as soon as Pablo is on the screen anyway.

Yes, a very good touch.

Agreed that the DEA agent is a lightweight who is undeserving of his Steve McQueen-esque narration.

The guy who's the leader of the Search Bloc is certified badass.

Also, thanks guy for telling us the ending of the season, I wasn't wondering whether they'd get to Pablo's death or anything.
