I read this too, predictions anyone? Here are mine..

1. Evil Corp will not be taken down in the first few seasons... it will happen, but somewhere towards the end of the series.

2. Elliot will hook up with Darlene and Angela creating a weird love triangle of on and off again relationships. Shayla will not be happy with him and is edited out of the show during/after season 1.

3. Ollie is somehow associated with the Dark Army, and the Dark Army has a financial interest in keeping him and Evil Corp around.. this will be revealed in season 1.

4. Angela starts doing drugs.

5. Mr Robot is a real person. They are just playing with us creating the illusion that he may not be a real person to add an extra layer of enjoyment/speculation to the show.

BTW- Legit show is legit.. loved this last episode.

What was the point of the first few episodes showing Mr. Robot never interacting with anyone but Elliott?

When he finally did interact Elliot was sitting back in the corner like Mr. Robot usually does. Then when Robot walked away and Elliot came back out to the group.

I think they were enforcing the fact that the 2 guys are really just the one with the different sides of the personality.

Yeah I'm thinking they are just going full Fight Club. "Sometimes you imagined yourself watching me".

Still, incredible episode. And the score is great. It is like the Reznor scores, but that's a good thing! Perfectly fits the tone.

Maybe to show that over time his delusions of Mr. Robot get stronger.

My feeling is Mr. Robot represents a different side of Elliot's personality. Most of the time, when Elliot is interacting with other characters, it's the "Elliot" character we see, but sometimes, it's the "Mr. Robot" character.

In the later part of the show when Mr. Robot is conversing with the rest of the crew, Elliot is out of focus in the background.

Yeah I didn't get that Mr Robot was real after this episode. Still seems like Elliot to me.

Not sure what the point of the gang leader story line is but I'll trust there is some point to it.

The drug dealer is also Elliott.

Or this is a Shutter Island ripoff and he's just the guy that gives him his meds.

If Elliot and Mr. Robot are the same person, then he gives himself directions in the ear piece, while being in the van reading the computer which contains said directions interacting with 2 members of f society, and in steel mountain doing things and interacting with people at the same time... makes no sense.

Amazing episode and I really love the background music, which is similar to The Knick.

It makes plenty of sense. Mr robot being in his ear is the same as being the voice in his head

Like you can tell when you watch the scene. Mr robot knows everything Elliot is thinking. It's just very clear they're the same person imo

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

Regardless of what you think of the show, the initial set ups made that episode very problematic. It's not something that can't be gotten past, but if Mr. Robot is real they're plainly just effing with the audience and every single thing they can imagine is in play.

My "speculation" is that Tyrell is either bankrolling (or bought off the mercenaries) or is the head of the Dark Army. It's no coincidence he showed up at Steel Mountain, and also no coincidence that the "deal" between the Dark Army and fsociety was killed before fsociety showed up there. I can't find a way to make it so that he's not involved. He's an absolutely evil guy.

It was also noteworthy that the name of the company on the panel Elliott rewired was Air Dream something. They actually did an insert so you could clearly see the name. In real time, the way the font looked I thought it was Al something Dream. I really hope that wasn't an intended clue.

Also, the other woman in the group interacted with Mr. Robot/Darlene, so the group is seemingly either all real or all fake. Or we're just watching another withdrawal delusion featuring a bunch of people he knows.

I liked this episode a lot better than the last one. It was plenty weird but not too weird. This EvilCorp guy is shaping up as stranger than Elliot, maybe he's the only real one.

Okay, now that would be a great twist, and there's just enough going on to make it plausible.

Not necessarily. Mr. Robot does not interact at all with the guys in the van when Elliott is inside Steel Mountain.

Pretty clear no? Elliot jailed him, somehow gang leader dude figured it out (hope this gets some more explanation), and gang leader is coming after Elliot.

This would be great in my opinion, I also found it quite plausible

Regarding Mr. Robot, I kinda hope they just decided to level their entire audience because of the similarities to Fight Club and Mr. Robot is just a real character. Imo that would be an awesome twist .

It seems this trend is setting up a trend with fake major story progression perceived during the episode but then a reset to the status quo with minor real story progression at the end of the episode. I hope this is just to set up the characters etc, I hate shows that do that over and over.

But the other guys don't ever, for example, interrupt Mr Robot's conversations. There were four cups of coffee on the table at the coffee shop when Mr Robot bumps into the guy from Steel Mountain. Stuff like that, like nunnehi said, they're just ****ing with the audience now.

It's cheap, but more than anything else, it's literally Fight Club!

It kinda seems like maybe they were gonna try to reboot Fight Club like Fargo into a TV show, but then they couldn't get the rights so said "**** it, change just enough so we don't get sued"

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

Grunch and subbed. Going to read the thread now. I have though mr. Robot was not real since the scene where he pushed Elliot off the railing at the end of ep 2. Then it became super obvious in ep 3. Now in ep 5 Mr robot seemed to be a real person...but I guess we could just be seeing everything from eilliots prrspective, who knows

Dexter spoilers

Spoiler:

WTF at that toilet scene with the CTOs wife. The characters in this show are crazy.

I definitely think that's the case.

In the last scene (I believe) of the last episode, when the chick is about to launch the hack and Mr. Robot talks her out of it, during the entire time that Mr. Robot is talking Eliott is in the background looking and sipping his drink. Then Eliott takes over (Mr. Robot says sg like "Can someone talk sense into this woman?") and Mr. Robot is then in the background eating popcorn.

I thought it was really showing in this last episode.

Also there's a scence in the episode before that when Mr. Robot actually talks to the other guys, when Eliott is out because he's in withdrawal. During that scene the other guys are saying they should leave him behind, and Mr. Robot interacts with them. Turns out, a bit later, that this scene was all in Eliott's head (it starts with that, then goes on to other dreams and flashes).

I'm pretty sure we'll have the "reveal" soon enough.
