the plant has been up and running seemingly for years.
but yes, it contributed to some people getting cancer and dying.
WR stated her intention to move the plant to Congo.
I dont 100% believe that the attacks were all out of spite. but that is what she communicated to Price.
I don’t really get how they concluded the therapist still can’t report Elliott after her last session with Mr Robot. she knows how good of a hacker he is from when he hacked her. I guess I’m glad the show at least addressed it by showing her talking with someone about it, and I see why they obv can’t have her report him, it just seems pretty unlikely that confidentiality would prevail over claiming responsibility for a huge terrorist attack
The show maybe could have portrayed her as more uncertain whether Elliot was speaking the truth or not. She seemed to really believe him. If she really believes him, it's rather weird that she wouldn't report it. It's a minor point, though.
I found some a Wikipedia article about why Congo is possibly important to WR if we look at the DR Congo of the real world:

*DR Congo has the largest coltan reserves in the world, estimated at 64% of the global reserve.
*Coltan is mainly used for producing various electronics, including smartphones/computers
*Mining coltan creates various lung diseases for miners
*DR Congo is highly dependant on the mining industry
*Coltan has been used as a plot point before. In Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Skynet needs it to create a terminator army.
Likely theories:
*With the digital eCoin becoming the new currency, having control over an input which is necessary in production of smartphones/computers seems like a pretty good position to be in. There could also be a link to crypto mining, but not certain it is likely that Esmail wrote that back in 2014 or earlier when writing the initial script.
*Whatever WR is developping in the mysterious plant is something which will need a lot of coltan in the future, and will allow her to control the world. This could be any type of electronic that has the potential to change the world (AI-related, power generation-related, technology which allows human bodies to be modified with electronics,...)
*WR is developping something that has to do with time travel and this needs a lot of coltan for some reason.
I obviously dislike the third possibility the least . I think the probability is very low though, Esmail does not seem like the type of guy that would allow something to be introduced so late in the game that literally changes everything about the show.
this was a very different episode, but I kinda liked it. I like that the show has such wide range. enjoyed the final scene with him and angela talking with their backs against the door too, the lighting was cool.
I might be in the minority because I feel like people tend to hate these types of episodes, but ya I thought it was a good reset ep with I’m sure a bunch of craziness coming in the last 2 episodes of the season
While watching the episode I was disappointed because I realised nothing of major importance would happen, but once it was over I really liked it.
I think a lot of tv shows blow it because they try to make every episode exciting, and that eventually results in losing touch/sympathy with the characters. Game of Thrones is an excellent, recent example.
This type of episode made us reconnect with Elliot again and made us sympathetic with his struggle, and to a lesser degree Angela/Darlene's.
I think it's a bit comparable to Breaking Bad's The Fly, though I think this one was executed better and might be a bit less polarising?
The episode also did some excellent things:
*Excellent social commentary on today's issues with Muslim culture and how it is perceived.
*I really liked how Elliott's struggle with suicide was portrayed, from the scene with Darlene to the scene with the dealer to the scene at the beach, and finally him spending the day with Trenton's brother.
*The scene with Angela was artistic af and really well done
Also I usually hate kid actors but for some reason I really liked that smug little prick.
I'm also not sure whether the kid was real or not, but I'm leaning towards him being real. Some conversations would not make a lot of sense if it was all in his head. I wonder if he'll show up again.
Also did anyone understand the truck stopping and throwing Mr. Robot's jacket on the street? That point did make me doubt whether this might've been all in his head.

I liked it too. I thought the final scene was really really good, too bad my wife ruined it by making tons of noise trying to get her Jack in the box food out of the bag.
I kinda feel like literal time travel/parallel universe stuff is less likely in the show after how heavy handed they went with the Back to the Future stuff. Like it was too obvious and we're being misdirected.
I thought the episode was a little meh and thinking about it I'm not sure this is any kind of a reboot. Elliot does get back the MR Robot jacket at the end so was it just "I'm depressed, but now let's get to what we were doing"

Great episode, although I'm not sure I'm liking Angela going nuts. Darlene obviously wanted to be caught, right? It's her plan.
Angela went crazy a too fast and too far. Reminds me of a Miami Vice episode when Crockett is trying to find a seriel killer and gets too deep in half an episode.
IDK if getting caught was the plan, but I think her and Dom are playing Doms boss.
The look on Darlene's face when she realized she was going to have to seduce Dom... I think she was just resigned to the fact that it was going to be a lot more work than plan A.
