i only started watching this 6 days ago and watched both series its very good, confusing in parts will probably rewatch it again soon
That's some next level ****, and would make the scene where he kisses Darlene that much weirder. But going back to that scene, she did refer to Elliot as her brother, and the Angela storyline wouldn't make to much sense

The Ringer had an episode with Mr Robot creator San Esmail, where they discuss other tv series from 2016, such as Atlanta

So S3 is an action thriller? Hmm...

I have no idea what to expect this season. I'm kinda preparing myself for disappointment for some reason.

Season 1 was so brilliant there was no place to go but down.

The way this show has evolved, season 3 has zero chance of being merely good - it'll either be amazing or a tire fire.

Season 2 was already a tire fire in my opinion. I'll watch the first episode of 3 and them make a decision. I don't feel the least bit plot committed, though. I think season 1 stands perfectly fine on its own and, while not without its own flaws, is definitely worth the occasional rewatch.

I finished season 1 and enjoyed it, although wasn't super into it. Is "tire fire" the consensus on season 2, or should I make an effort to get through it?

It was rough watching season 2 as it came out, one episode per week or whatever. I can imagine it being much better binging it though.

I liked S2 a lot, but I can also understand why it turned some people off. If you want moar of all the weird things that made S1 so unique, you'll like S2. If S1 was your upper limit and you want a more traditional TV show, you'll be confused and disappointed.

As for S3, first ep was neither here nor there, which might be a bad sign of what's to come.

Season 2 is worth it just for the coffee shop shooting and the sit-com episode.

I loved S1 enough to give S3 a shot, despite being totally lost and annoyed for most of S2. The new season premiere was coherent and entertaining; looking forward to more.

This pretty much sums up how I feel. I'm not willing to bail on the show after s03ep01. It wasn't OMGAWWD great or anything, but decent enough for me to give them another chance to win me back.

The sci-fi element that was introduced really annoyed me. Like the creator ran out of ideas so he threw it in to carry the series forward. Hopefully the next episodes get better.

Considering the entire story was originally pitched as a movie I doubt Esmail is making too much key plot stuff up as he goes along.

I heard Esmail started writing it as a movie but then switched is to a TV series.

Season 1 has a definite movie plot but Season 3 is entering odd territory. I hope Esmail isn't getting crazy with this story like David Chase did with Sopranos. It's complicated enough without adding sci-fi elements.
