And honestly, im getting real tired of Elliots ****. Why does it take him so much ****ing time to understand that him and Mr. Robot are supposed to work together, for it is the true reason of his existence. Yet again he always comes back to fighting him and being a "lunatic"

i was all up for embracing Elliots and Mr. Robot uniqueness as well as oneness since the season 1
elliot was down until he found out mr robot is a terrorist...

reminds me of this scene. he says the abdomen is a wound and not a kill. maybe it was intentional?

I half expected Mrs. Tyrell to orgasm during that beating. She's kicks it kinky like that, you know. Also mega-sexy when she pursed those big foreign pillow lips and called him pussy.

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

That whole bit with her and the CTO was real dumb.

So she's going to frame him for a murder Tyrell committed with her new boyfriend's fake memory... except that unless she has like a whole ****load more parts of that plan it's not like he'll be convicted of it. "Hey it's been several months and like, society sort of collapsed since then, but I would like to tell you that I saw a guy looking kinda sweaty"

Also she's like, some above-the-law sociopath with ties to organized crime, why doesn't she just ****ing murder him herself?

But ok, she wants him jailed, not dead...

why does she need to frame him to get revenge? Shouldn't he already be in jail for the beating? Wasn't going over there to provoke him into beating her the plan all along? Did the writers change their minds about that subplot after they already filmed part of it?

I think it's a combination of

1/ Getting revenge for Tyrell not becoming CTO which messed up their plan. I think if Tyrell became CTO he could have pulled off the hack without getting implicated.

2/ Seeing an opportunity with the CTO obviously suspecting Tyrell for the hack and wanting him wanting some sort of revenge given he had been sending the weird gifts/stalking her.

She knew if she walked in and provoked him there were loads of scenarios where he would do something dumb which would make him look suspicious/violent. If nothing happens she loses nothing. If her plan works she can frame the murder on CTO guy, if it doesn't work she doesn't lose much. Given how her character is portrayed her taking a beating doesn't seem like something that would phase her. And the CTO guy taking the fall for the murder might not help Tyrell much, but it should be very beneficial for her.

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

seems like a lot of risk in her getting seriously hurt/actually killed by the guy since he has nothing to lose anymore

aside from the obvious fact that detectives should see right through the guy changing his story months later

Yeah but Knowles is a beta pussy male. No way he's going to actually kill her.

At least I think that is her reasoning. She knew he would puss out because deep down he's a loser.

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

I think he's essentially right though. Knowles is a combination of too weak/too smart/too non-violent that results in the chance of him actually killing her being ~0%. Some people might call that combination being a pussy .

I believe those were her words. That's how she viewed him and made a calculated decision to enrage him knowing that he wouldn't follow through and kill her like her hubby would.

Yeah exactly. Like what is even up with this discussion? I thought it was pretty obvious. She knew exactly what she was doing...

So she's been playing the long game by dating the bartender.

But what if Scott doesnt "give her the gift" of revealing himself as a vengeful, drunken mess. How could dating the bartender pay off for her then?

Joanna's play is to frame the CTO for the murder to get Tyrell of the hook. Seems ridic though, even in the context of the show

Really liked the reveal of Angela working with the DA now

But he beat her half to death. She somehow recovered really quickly, but we know he called 911 about it, too.

The cops are going to have some questions for him AND her about that!

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

To go along with Joanna's beating. This was one violent season of television.

Season one had the live on-air suicide, but id have to say it was tame in comparison to s2

This season, every episode had some character get the crap kicked out of them.

Let's see. Darryl and his goon beating Elliot.

Them taking care of the Rat Tail guy.

Scott versus Joanna.

Elliot almost getting another beating, but Joey Bada$$ comes and stabs his a$$.

Trenton pummels madame executioner & then Darlene finishes her.

Cisco gets needled.

Joanna's goon kills the parking attendant.

Mr Robot shoots elliot in the head.

Cisco gets executed.

The FBI gets massacred.

Tyrel shoots elliot.

Gideon got MURKED

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

Elliot wasn't going to catch a beating, he was going to get raped, and it was pretty surprisingly graphic about that for basic cable.

It's weird Season 1 had way less violence but the times it got violent(Tyrell's "Two Weeks" choking sesh, Shayla) really mattered.

You forgot Romero getting found post-headshot, too.

This show takes the Python Approach to storytelling. Sometimes it doesn't feed answers for a whole season.

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

Went to the New Yorker Festival event with Sam and Christian last night.

Sam said the framing was certainly deliberate as Elliot's world is "off kilter" and he wanted to express that through the camera and framing.

He talked about definitely having a plan for the entire arc of the show with
Spoiler:

Said all the religious symbolism and Easter Eggs are also deliberate and will reveal their meanings as the show progresses.

Talked about how White Rose was originally written for a woman but he also knew he wanted BD Wong for the role, so it occurred to him to make the character trans

Talked about the music and how the show started off as a movie, and tons of other stuff. Christian was mostly good looking
