Something like an asylum made sense, and I remember that being discussed. I missed or misread the comments that said jail/prison specifically. Voluntary or involuntary commitment to a psychiatric institution fit with everything we knew, but being in jail opens up a whole new part of the story that we don't know about yet.

Yeah, I thought Tyrell was dead until Mr. Robot told Elliot he was dead, now I'm sure he's not dead. Also great job at the last morphing the previous stuff into Elliot's actual situation. Cool episode! cool show

off topic but the original silk road had all these things

I'm guessing he violated his parole. His employment record alone shows that he is a network security engineer or w/e his job description is.

At the end of season 1, Kristas ex tells her that Elliot hacked him by using a proxy routing through Estonia, and that short of that country falling apart, they'd never be able to get enough evidence on him without her help. She says no, he goes home. When he gets home, he turns on the TV and the news of the hack is on and the news person says basically that among other countries Estonia is in full fledged riots etc. Once the prison theory came put on reddit, i assumed he was there because Estonia did essentially fall apart after the hack, and they got their evidence on him

It would take months for someone to get the evidence they needed to finally arrest Elliot for his hacking of random people. It's tv so speeding up that process is possible.

Most likely Elliot scenario.

- Krista's ex reports Elliot for stealing his dog.
- Police show up at the end of last season (The knock on the door)
- Elliot is charged with stealing the dog. Since he already has a record he's given 6 months to a 1 year. Probably takes a plea deal.
- Dark Army hacks system so that he is granted an early release and he only does about 2 months of time. It was July 4th last episode. Hack was May 9th.

Anything else would be a little ridiculous. Building a case that he hacked Krista's ex would take some time and Elliot is very good at covering his tracks.

Figuring out which parts of the delusion were which parts of the jail is a pointless game, that's putting more thought into it than the writers did. Like when he emailed the cops a tip about the site and they surrounded a normal house... that was the jail? The cops surrounded the jail?

Really out there slim possibility, but any chance that Tyrell and Elliot are the same person too? It would explain Tyrell's absence while Elliot has been in jail... And explaining the Joanna-Elliot scene at the end of season 1 could simply be that she's already become aware of Elliot/Tyrell's multiple personalities (at some point before this, which is a scene we've never been shown yet), and has simply decided to cope with it by treating each one differently (and why in season 2 we've seen her cheating/ending the relationship). Elliot imagines his dad doing stuff, and the narration picks and chooses what realities we see, I'm just trying to wrap my head around if there is any possible way that Tyrell could be another personality of Elliot's, where much like how some of the stuff that Mr Robot has done was in fact Elliot doing them but pretending it was his dad doing it, Elliot also has a part of himself that is the Tyrell character..

That's need discussed earlier in this thread. Elliot talks to Tyrrell secretary and she doesn't recognize him.

Tyrrell also has a meeting with Gideon in his office. I think Gideon might question why his IT security employee is also a VP of E-Corp.

regardless if the consensus is shifting from GOAT to OMGWTF, you have to respect this level of detail (that from what I understand also applies to all the coding as well).

I think it's had some missteps but I'm still very happy it exists as a show on TV (moreso than Hannibal, which I also liked and would rate Mads > Malek as a performance (both elite though)).

Got to agree. Peak Hannibal and peak Mr Robot are about equal, but whole body of work is much stronger for Hannibal.

Yea Mads is GOAT. Still almost shed a tear about once a month when I think about that show. Certainly missed.

Why waste our time.

Also, peak Hannibal is still a hell of a lot better than peak Robot.
