Yeah, I'm still watching too. I love how paranoid this crazy bastard is, reaching for the drill to shut everything down and frying that metal in the microwave on the slightest doubt.

Not sure why ppl think the 2nd ep was weak. It at least addressed all the concerns posed here about being unable to eliminate the hard backups as being a huge plot hole. I'm hooked.

I mean obviously there's no discussion that it's still a must watch, just felt about the episode less excited afterwards than pilot

Is there a plotline that isn't real and just an Elliot delusion?

They seem to hint at that but I am not sure either way.

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

Started the episode on the expectation that it would be weaker (mistakenly opened this thread before watching it, and read a few comments), but I don't think it was. Plotlines are developping and I'm enjoying the ride.

I sometimes have a hard time understanding Eliott, with his mumbling and deep voice. It's not that bad yet, but I hope he doesnt overdo it later on.

RE: the job interview and thinking he was going to get "warned" about E-corp watching him, I think that was definitely part of it. The agent telling him "we're never too far away" or sg like that felt like a definitive "we're watching you, don't **** up" warning to me.

Was that E Corp job offer scene a delusion? Seemed very dreamlike.

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

I liked it. Don't get the meh. It was pretty much in line with the first episode.

Wouldn't Elliot's play be to accept the E Corp job and then work from within? I have a feeling this will come back and he might end up there.

The Mr Robot group seemed much less organized/competent in this episode for some reason. More like a bunch of nerds kinda tilting at windmills a bit.

Yet later in the episode he still had his full set up. I think destroying his stuff out of paranoia was one part that was all in his mind.

New favorite show. First two episodes were awesome. Fingers crossed the awesomeness continues for a few seasons.

The lead actor is excellent

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

Is Mr. Robot Elliot's psycho interpretation of his dead father?

And the New E Corp CTO is his young father?

After he pushed him off into the sand I almost felt the same thing, not sure about the other part.

I like the theroy. It does seem to fit. Trailers for next week though do kinda make it unlikely.

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

I finally tuned into this show, and said "Oh my God!" when I saw the creator's name under the title. I actually knew the guy who created this show, and had no idea he had something like this in him. I think it's a good show, but all of the creepy affects of his personality are on display in the writing. He was kind of a strange guy whose job had nothing to do with writing/directing/etc. He's evidently running very good at life, as he's also dating Emmy Rossum. I'm pretty surprised he got away with his directing style in episode 2, and would be even more surprised if he gets to direct another episode.

I think I'm going to be pretty disappointed if this whole thing is in his head. I think all the Evil Corp stuff is a bit of a clue. Saying he's conditioned himself to only hearing it that way just seems wrong. People who shouldn't be referring to it that way have been referring to it that way, and it seems more like a clue than some brain conditioning type thing.

After watching the second episode, I'm fairly convinced the Psychiatrist is either a surrogate for his mom, or is his mom realized as a Psychiatrist in his mind. Guess we'll see, but I hope this ends up being real.

After seeing the guy from House of Cards, it immediately made me think the creator got the idea for the show by building a backstory for the hacker from House of Cards and how he would end up in the situation he did.

I was expecting a reveal that the new CTO was actually pulling the strings of FSociety in order to move up the corporate ladder by framing his former boss. (with end goals which may or may not align).

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

Personally, I think the key thing to take from that scene is that all the faces were blurry at the beginning. From a directing perspective (in my opinion), that would make it appear to not be real.

Re: New Show- Mr. Robot

I just watched the 2 eps today and I didn't feel that big of a difference between them (except maybe ep 1 was directed a bit more interestingly).

Very solid. I'm coming off a streak of watching a bunch of meh shows and this def broke that.

oh right I remember what else I wanted to say: The title really does suck, it kept me away from watching it until I finally looked up its reviews after seeing the thread constantly bumped

I have a very strong fight club vibe about Mr Robot and f society.

Yeah, I tend to believe this, to some extent at least. End of the season will probably force a full rewatch to see if it ties together.

The interesting thing is he is really tech savvy, as shown in ep one, but completely clueless about security, as shown in the ep two hack.

It indicates either one of the two scenes didn't happen or he did intentionally let himself be hacked to see if it would happen and either way the paranoia throughout was justified.

My first thought last episode was he was part of it all but now I've no idea what to think.

I think Elliot is doing everything himself and Mr. Robot is his evil side/voice and the Therapist his good side.
