30 minute show with Julia Roberts. Didn't expect that. Happy to see Bobby Cannavale in it.

His proposed mini-series remake of Metropolis sounds more intriguing/alarming. That's some serious chutzpah.

Good on them for ending it and not dragging it on too long. I could use more than one more season. But im excited to see where they go

It’s interesting to have a prestige Sunday night show that I actually watch.

First episode made me realize I need to rewatch but no way I'm patient enough.

Great episode though, everybody don't look for anything Mr. Robot related before you've seen it.

Spoilers below.

Spoiler:
Angela dead 100% right?

Does anyone have a really confident opinion whether whiterose's machine will work or not?

Ending was Price recruiting Elliott for whatever plan he has to take Whiterose down?

Also I totally forgot about this: We're supposed to believe Tyrell is not truly aligned with Dark Army, right?

100%

To know if it can work, Id like to know what it’s actually intended to do.

I read it as Price working with/for WR.

Of course. Tyrell is their puppet and he resents it

I thought it tried way too hard to be what it was trying to be. wasnt that bad but not something id want to watch again.

the creator spent the past 2 years being super upset about politics on twitter. hes losing touch with reality like elliot.

Robot was cancelled and now has multiple other projects. Feels like he didnt put his all into this one

now hes playing a role in the show and featuring his wife too

hopefully it gets better. was waiting 2 years for this.

nice promotion for the show.

I pretty much figured there'd be a big death in the first episode....

Pretty dead here. But there is a podcast with Sam Esmail on The Hollywood Reporter (thr.com)

that ending tho

three personalities?

at the end of this episode, we're taken back to the same room at the end of the pilot episode where tyrell greets elliot with his "bonsoir elliot"

elliot's inner child? is spinning around in a chair, that isn't his according to his imaginary mom and informs the child they are waiting for "him"

who is "him"? elliot? nope. mr robot? nope - "the other one"

father, son & holy spirit? ("you're only seeing what's in front of you, you're not seeing what's above you")

only clues we're left with - the skyline contains the freedom tower, and in an earlier scene darlene joked about elliot's adoption papers being in his mom's safe deposit box

this show has barely any characters it could be left at the rate they're dying off

wtf

I'm assuming it can't be Tyrell

Fun episode, with some answers!

Also perfectly on theme with the Chinese controling everything & everyone.

Kind of easy to say "we need to gather everyone from our secret group to apoint your successor", but I'll allow it.

Would love to guess who 3rd personality is, but don't even know properly who's officially dead & not.

Btw whoever it is, it could be someone who we've seen dying if the murder was not on-screen & only Elliott saw the body? Not sure anyone fits that bill, just thinking it would be a cool plot twist.

after some rewatching and redditting here's what i've come up with:

in season 1 episode eps1.3da3m0ns.mp4 during the well known dream sequence, angela tells elliot he's only a month old - this would coincide with him introducing us into his world at the beginning of the season.

we also have the sam sepiol alias, which is a recurring alias throughout the show, it's elliot's hacker handle and is also the alias he used during the steel mountain epsiode back in season 1. sam sepiol is a confident prick.

now we jump ahead to last season's episode eps3.7dont-delete-me.ko - at the beginning of the episode we flashback to young elliot and his dad at the movies setting up their trademark m&m's in the popcorn.

elliot is being extremely cold toward's his dad, saying he didn't even want to come, while his dad is hacking away due to his cancer. his dad finally collapses (dies?) and all elliot does is casually pick up his dad's mr robot jacket, go into a theatre, and tell the empty seat next to him "shhh, the movie's about to start."

conclusion?

when elliot was with his dad at the movies, sam sepiol was in control while being so cruel to his dad. so...

either elliot hasn't been the primary personality the entire time and is only a month old during the dream sequence in season 1, and the dickhead sam sepiol is the primary personality, or...

dickhead sam sepiol is the third personality who is only a month old during the season 1 dream sequence

and/or - sam sepiol really is the mogul he presented to the steel mountain employee, and possibly part of the deus group
