The first episode was great because the concept was so fresh. Keeping it great for 10 episodes was a great writing and acting accomplishment.

I'm not saying the show can't pick up Emmy noms, but I still think it's a long shot because of what it is more than anything else.
Lolwut.

The Americans is probably the best show on Television. Writing, directing, acting, set design, costume, etc. are all elite.

I got so bored this season I stopped watching it.

I just binge-watched this and I thought it was terrific. Like others have written, I thought the acting, writing, and musical score were Grade A. What made it special was how topical it was with corporate and government hacking and middle class consumer debt in the news and our personal digital privacy more and more in jeopardy. The thought the show had references to other movies than just the Fight Club, like the Matrix(1999) and the classic Persona (1966). ALso Tyrell look a little like the "hacker" Julian Assange. (I also would like to know where that mysterious "Hurst Library" is in NYC.)

Possibly interesting tidbit I found on the web:

Apparently what Joanna says in Danish to Elliot about Tyrell:

"Hvis du har gjort ham noget, så slår jeg dig ihjel."
Danish -> English
"If you have done anything to him, I will kill you."

That's a strange thing to think when he's there looking for him.

Im suprised she feels that strongly about Tyrell since in the hospital she was basically telling him to GTFO if he did not get the CTO job to further their plan. Why would she give a **** what happens to at this point?

SOUND & COLOR. Ugh can't stop playing that song, but it's awesome though.

And real rankings are:

Angela>Tyrell's wife>Shayla>CFO Wifey>Darlene>Psychiatrist>White Tranny BD Wong Rose.

I don't think you're supposed to call them tranny anymore.

I actually prefer the lovely Gloria Ruben the shrink to Tyrell's wife, but objectively Mrs. Tyrell is much hotter.

Angela was definitely glammed up for this last episode tho, part of her turn to the Dark Side.

What are supposed to call them, then?

Regardless it's hard for me to imagine Long Duck Dong as a Mastermind behind the Illumanti. But he did have his preference for large women.

That was an incredibly fun season of TV. So much better then I thought it would be. Nice to see a USA show that I never once considered dropping.

It's not super ambitious effects wise (the green screen time square stuff was pretty weak, in my opinion), so I don't think it's a budget buster. Yes, BSG was a long time ago, but this show is probably still cheaper to produce than that one was. And going lower budget wouldn't really hurt Mr. Robot at all.
Actually I just saw something about SyFy having a Thomas Jane series on tap, so maybe they are opening the wallet back up, but seriously SyFy has spent the last decade or so cementing their brand as "campy garbage", it would be even more out of place than it was on USA.

Of the NBC/Universal stable USA was the right place to put Mr Robot, the real question is how it ended up on USA instead of FX.

This was a truly outstanding season of TV. Even with all the disjointed and confusing scenes throughout the season they left people wanting more and that is a good thing. The acting has been first rate and most of the characters interesting, except for the cheater guy, and the writing has been excellent. Elliot, with all his psychosis, is really interesting and trying to figure out what is real is fun.

As for the women I'm going
Tyrell's wife >Shayla >Angela >the shrink >Darleen

Yes. Tyrell and Elliott talk around other people during the AllSafe walkthrough. And They are in the room together when AllSafe is presenting about the original fsociety/E Corp hack.

I'd be shocked if they're the same person.

Sam Esmail was on Andy Greenwald's podcast after the finale and was very clear on the "we're not trying to be a 'gotcha' show" line. He felt like they were pretty open with the Mr Robot isn't real plot point (Pixies song, Planetary, etc) and wanted people to understand that so that the cemetery scene was a more emotional "oh wow, Elliott realizes this character he's so invested in isn't real" scene and not a "whoa, Mr Robot is fake!" scene.

BTW, I would 110% suggest fans listen to the Greenwald podcasts with Malek and Esmail, and the Nerdist podcast with Malek/Slater (where we also learn that Rami dated Christian's step-sister in high school).

The show's too "liberal" for FX. I think the bigger question is how AMC didn't grab it.

The finale did a terrible job with Elliot's hyperventilating. The build up through out the season was awesome. The insanity of the end kind of left me with a headache. Too many loose-ends increase this show's ROR. I hope this shtt don't turn into a soap opera.

Don't all shows have loose ends at the end of a season?

I was surprised the hack actually happened.

I think next season Elliot learns he was really a pawn in the Big Game and the final 2 seasons are him setting it all straight again.
