He was just giving you a niche, genre comparison. It has nothing to do with quality, and everything about how much the Academy tends to snub almost any genre type TV. Something has to be on the level of Game of Thrones to break through. There's a lot of material in Mr. Robot the Academy would find incredibly offensive, so that's actually a strike against the show. Again, this isn't about quality, it's about the Academy being rude to a lot of really good shows just because they don't like them (anything even remotely a police procedural has a really hard time breaking through that ceiling these days as well with Fargo being a very obvious exception due to what it was).

The season finale is now up on my channel guide(cablevision) but it wasn't picked up in my record all episodes request like previous shows. You may need to set a manual record on your DVR to have it recorded.

I just checked my DvR (Comcast) and it wasn't set to record. I think because I set it to record only new episodes and it probably thinks it is a repeat since "theoretically" the episode aired last week. So I overrode it to record.

It is showing as new on Time Warner Cable but had to override dvr as well

I haven't watched any of the episodes more than once, but I was wondering something about the Elliot/Darlene relationship.

After he kisses her, she's like "Oh God, you didn't forget again did you?" But the 2nd time Elliot goes to the arcade, he acts like he doesn't know her and she just jokes around like "haha he's acting like he doesn't even know me".

Don't you think she would have been a little more suspicious?

Holy **** they shot a whole new scene in the past like 2 weeks. That's ****ing ballsy, even for a throwaway scene like that.

Oh, that must be the scene.

Glad they didn't change it. Glad they delayed the show a week.

Asking to try on the Pradas might be one of the top 10 most cold-blooded things I've ever seen on tv. This show is really swinging for the fences.

Wow - need to re watch again.

Was that some kind of Illuminati gathering in the post credits scene?

Tyrell's wife is even creepier in the daylight.

The E Corp scenes had an Omen like vibe going.

The asian guy from Law and Order was the guy who is the head of the chinese hacking group from earlier in the show that was cross dressed. Didn't realize who it was till I started watching from the beginning of the episode again. Maybe Evil corp wanted it to happen.

so the guy who was cheating with the psych lady put together that elliot is a member of fsociety bc of the estonia connection with the proxies he used and the news report he watched when he got home?

The implication of that scene was the Evil corp guy knew who did it(Elliot, which is why he's so confident and why he's buttering up Elliot's friend), but didn't know that he was talking to someone who was also involved.

So basically I guess fsociety is secretly a pawn of the Dark Army, and this whole thing has something to do with mines in the Congo? Or maybe even a level deeper?

Hmm. I kinda would have liked at least one thing resolved in the finale. All we got was that our very unreliable narrator/protagonist is even crazier than previously shown, and possibly getting crazier. Not really sure how I feel about everything being a cliffhanger.

Congo mines is somehow gold related??

Elliot will realize he is a pawn for this Illuminati group then get his act together and use his super powers to save the world from a greater evil.

Yeah this was the second real weak episode of the season, shame it was the finale. I expected at least a resolution about Tyrell. How do you start a show in media res and never actually have the flashback?

Esmail claims that it was in there all along.

And just to speak to the specific Ashley Madison line. That was originally in the script. If you remember from the pilot, that's one of the things Elliot hacked about him, and one of the things Elliot used to manipulate him. When I wrote that in the season finale, I went, "Well, I'm kind of overdoing this," referencing Ashley Madison. I wound up cutting it before we were shooting it. And then literally, the news happened again. This is too much. It's almost as if the world wanted me to keep the scene as intended. It was actually purely a plot point.

Very disappointed by the finale. Oh well still 9/10 on the season As a whole

I think the best part of the finale was how they related it to the hysteria about possible September financial meltdown. It suppose to be a shemitah jubilee year, actually a super shemitah were everybody's debt is suppose to be wipe clean.

As for Tyrell I'm betting we won't find out until 2 or 3 episodes into the next season about what happen to him.
