In the final scene he turns up seconds after Elliot realizes it's his dad saying "I think we need to talk". I mean, that doesn't happen if he's real. It happens because it's all in his head.
It could be explained by his sister calling him again.

I keep asking myself if they would name a show after someone that isnt the main character and I really feel like they wouldn't but thats just my line of thinking.

They have kind of been cheating by giving Slater scenes by himself but Elliot's psychosis has been established as relatively severe though so I guess they can pass it off as them being the same person and I think thats what theyll do.

Awesome show. Ripped through 8 episodes in a couple of nights and was really hooked right from the get go.

Any idea how many episodes this season will be? I saw 10 listed on wiki, but wasn't sure if they were signed for more than that.

Elliot doesn't have anyone he knows or loves (thereore this isn't something Tyrell would say to Elliot if it was just Elliot taking on the Mr Robot persona). Therefore the dirty little secret could be that Mr Robot, Ellliot's Dad, is alive... And Mr Robot knocking on Elliot's door at the end of the episode was in fact the first time they've seen eachother since dad's faked death. (meaning to this point any Mr Robot scenes with Elliot have been Elliot imagining his dad there)
+1. Maybe Elliot hit his head when he fell out the window causing him to have his psychological problems. He seems like a person who might have try to kill himself. Mr Robot faked his death for cover and Tyrell knows but wants something from Mr Robot.

I'd have to go back and watch to be sure but how do we know for sure that Elliot's father died?

We know that Angela's mother died because we meet her Dad but has Angela ever said that Elliot's father died or did she tell someone that "we both lost a parent?"

So, maybe it was Elliot's mom who died because where is she? And Elliot blames/doesn't like his Dad.

Supposedly Elliot's father pushed him out the window when he was young and broke his arm because he told his mom that his father had leukemia and his father didn't want his mom to know. But why did Elliot know? Seems odd. Maybe Elliot jumped out that window and he has constructed instead this meme that his father pushed him out?

At this point I really don't believe anything that Elliot has told us about his past. Mr Robot could be his father and is alive but the narrative that Elliot has told us is just made up by him to deal with other issues.

If you guys didn't notice the song in the last scene of last episode is the same as in the last scene of Fight Club. That was a nice homage

Thanks for confirming. I couldn't place it while watching it, and 5 minutes after deleting I was like, "Wait, was it an instrumental of that Pixies song?"

Another great episode. I'm thinking this is the first act in a long narrative of the relationship between Elliot and his Father. Elliot could be a secret "weapon" that his Father created/influenced to take down E Corp once he realized that he was sick. We really don't know how Elliot got his hacking superpowers or why he uses them to take down "bad" guys.

For every one thing that is "resolved" 2 more new things appear. The baby adoption revelation was odd, will that come back later? How does Tyrell escape the murder investigation? Is White Rose the one behind Angela's job offer? Was she offered Tyrell's job?

I'm beginning to think this "hack" is a small part or diversion of a much large game plan for White Rose. The final episode may show this "hack" failing but allowing the pieces to position themselves for a more sinister plot.

So that gun in the popcorn.. anyone want to start laying odds on who that is most likely to kill?

RIP Tyrell, right? Or maybe his sister?

fight club's my favourite movie so I ****in loved it . Wheres is my mindddddddddddddd
Also the popcorn poppin at the end is a reference to explosions and buildings collapsing as the movie ends, I think.

Oh and I'm guessing we're still missing pieces between how "robot" had interactions with tyrell id have to rewatch, cause how the **** does he go from telling you he just choked a woman to death to letting him into your secret dungeon? -.-

I think the popcorn at the end was a reference to the opening scene where his dad says "let's go some popcorn" leading him out of the store to the movies.

Now that the fight club homage stuff is out there you can really tell how much it was inspired by FC . The whole look of the show, (brown color palette, the grimey\ dirty visuals is all fc which is pretty cool because I always liked all of that in the movie

i thought White Rose was the head of the Dark Army, and they're simply mercenaries with no investment in the motivations or consequences for their hacks?

for me the question is was Tyrell involved with the fsociety plot from the beginning, and why? i think yes b/ of his reaction hearing about the honeypot. this episode when he confronted Elliot with "tell me what you're doing" that complicates it i guess, but from the scene with Tyrell and Mr. Robot (Elliot) in the SUV i was left with the impression Tyrell knew details about the operation.

my theory: Tyrell went along with/facilitated the hack so he could swoop in and save the day as the hero for E Corp, but now that he's out he's going to help Elliot burn it to the ground so E Corp needs him to come back to fix things.

Elliot's pretty hardy if that 2nd story fall onto concrete barely hurt him.

I like Tyrell and Elliot together at last, sparks are sure to fly knowing those two rascals!
