Officielly start 25/6 but the pilot has "leaked" online atleast.

Liked it alot and think this could become very good. Main character Rami Malek is A+ good, lots of potential. Really looking forward to the next episode.

Anyone else watching this? If not I suggest its worth a look, you prolly realize in 5-10 mins if its "worth" watching or not for you.

EDIT: 9.4 on IMDB is pretty sick even though its "only" 6.8K votes.

i saw the first scene, and the main actor is REALLY REALLY good. he was good in his one or two episodes of 24.

but you rarely see a performance like that on network television, especially lolusa

I liked it, but as always the real nerds will have a problem with this because of the visual effects and oversimplifying of hacking making it look "swordfish" rather than fat WoW-guy in southpark-esque.

Im not one of those, so ill eat this right up, along with "hackers" and everything else that have been thrown my way over the years

This show actually has some of the most realistic hacking I've seen. Could be really good.

This is like the perfect 2+2 show. Hero is a anti-social loner who works at a job he hates, has no friends and makes fun of "regular" society.

Not that I didn't like it. I thought many of the lead's observations about people current society were fairly accurate.

The hacking element was probably some of the most accurate that has ever appeared on TV. Seems like they know who their audience is and are not going to dumb it down.

One huuuuuuuuge problem though. The Robot group was trying to bring down this Evil Corp "for the people" by wiping out everyone's debt by somehow frying all their servers. Uhhhh no. As anyone who has ever taken a loan out knows there is always a piece of paper that is filed away with your signature on it. Sure, it might take some time to get that information, but it's still exists. Plus I guess these guys have never heard of backups? Hard backups of data like that are stored in vaults. They would be able to at some point restore it and start billing people again. There is no way that would work. Yes, it would be an annoyance and cost the company lots of money, but when the alternative is just shrugging and absolving billions debt I'm pretty sure the company will spend 100s of millions to recover 100s of billions.

That was verrrrrry weak sauce and I expected something better with the way the show had been going. The Mr Robot people are supposed to be genius hackers. They should know all this. I can't suspend my disbelief on something like that. Too much of a hackneyed plot device.

I read the name of the show and thought "I'll probably be giving this one a miss"

Read it's IMDB and then a review anyway, and now I'm definitely going to give this show a chance.

i was very surprised at the message of this show for a network show. it said steve jobs was a villain. the hero of the show does a lot drugs, and the nice professional good girl enjoys getting high too. it says capitalism is bad

The Pilot was pretty strong but did have some things that were somewhat LOL bad. I give Rami high marks as his character looks to be very interesting. Darlene and her bf could get boring but we'll see how that plays out. Gideon telling Elliot he was gay was sort of strange too.

I had it DLed for a few days and was going back and forth on even watching it just having skimmed the wiki on it (was super busy this week so an hour of TV was a huge demand).

The name is really bad and could harm the show a lot imo. Its also covering an area that most TV is super bad at. I mean you read socially awkward hacker and you think big bang meets csi cyber.

It took a very good response on here and some glowing reviews before I found and hour for it.

I just wish wish wish they found another name. F Society would have been perfect.

yeah, that's the feeling I got here. The scene where he was talking with the blond's boyfriend strucked me. The hero seemed like a massive self righteous douchebag judging everyone failing to reconize he is just an addict piece of ****.

The hacking part was ok, until the scene where he is in the data center which was a little cringe worthy. I liked the tor scene at the very beginning which was 100% true.

Watched the pilot and thought it was really good. Definitely in on this one.

Much of it is filmed in NYC and I saw some signs announcing a shoot tomorrow a few blocks (85th and Columbus) from my apartment. Doubt I'll have time to walk over unfortunately

I know nothing about hacking but really liked the pilot.
I've liked the lead since the pacific and christian slater is so good.

only thing I thought was ridic was when he was ranting about society and they flashed a pic of steve jobs, lance armstrong, bill cosby n tom brady.
some of these are not like the others.

minor gripe tho.
didn't realize USA had quality original programming.

I dunno how accurate it is but slater did address that specific point when they were talking on the ferris wheel.

he says how it would be impossible to reinforce all the outdated paperwork.

I mean I know personally I haven't signed anything since my car loan and have all kinds of accounts that were opened and maintained online.

again I have no idea what would really happen but they at least addressed the issue and in the universe they're creating their attack if carried out properly should be effective.

Tom Brady because he is virtually unknown outside America?

Jobs cos he is the only one responsible for the deaths of people under his duty of care?

I thought the first episode was exceptional. I can't wait to dive into this show and watch it unfold.

Having said that, I'd be more optimistic about Mr. Robot's future on a different network. USA shows tend to rely heavily on the buddy dynamic - Suits, Graceland, Psych, White Collar, Royal Pains, and so on - I'm worried the show could turn into too much of a Slater/Malek push and pull relationship similar to say Neil/Peter or Mike/Harvey. Basically, I'm worried USA is going to USA Mr. Robot into being unrecognizable in a few episodes from what we saw in the first episode.

Regardless I thought the first episode was great and I'll certainly be tuning in this summer, I just hope this show goes against the mold of many other USA shows.
