I missed something. Not sure it's spoiler-worthy, but I'll go with caution.

Spoiler:
What was the reason for the road trip with Ray and Zoe?

I think they are transporting drugs.

Wow. That was pretty intense. Interested to see where things go between Ray and the other guy.

Felt similar to that final run of episodes of BrBa. Given the final scene portrayed Ray at a crossroads I guess we'll see him choose between continuing the criminal life and focusing on his daughter. I'm going to guess he'll choose to go after that dude who murdered his gf-to-be as one last criminal act type of thing but that won't turn out well for Ray.

Uhh sorry, I didn't realize Americans get the new ep way later than us Euros apparently. When I wrote that I'd seen the ep like 15 hours ago

Was that the series finale? I have to assume it is and I'm not sure I'm in love with it, who are those soon-to-be-dead young guys in his taxi?

I like open endings but that's just a bizarre note to finish on.

Yes. Those guys were random goons.

didn't seem that open to me......

was there any doubt how that night was gonna end and who was gonna end up dead?

to me it was he left the old life behind found something he can maintain most of his independence and solitude but hey if some ****ing young dimb**** wannabe tough guys force him to revert back to his heavy self then let's ****ing go he's never not gonna be ray.

He looked directly at the camera for the first time in the whole series I think.

Since Ray was killed in The Magician, fans expected him to not survive the series finale. This made every scene more tense and the ending that much more special.

His motivation for not killing Ray could be leaving himself the option to further the story somehow. I really hope he does at some point.

Yep.

I thought the final tied things up nicely especially his showdown with Freddy.

Leaving most of the cast intact just begs for a movie. I am sure there will be multiple studios willing to throw much cash at Ryan to produce a script and we can all agree Ray would come back with a vengeance if something were to happen to Brittany

Loved it. Fully expected him to die at the end but that was a perfect ending and it allows for the show to potentially live on.

Great final season and action packed final episode. The whole rural area shootout sequence was really well done.

Spoiler:
In the fight at the rural house he grabs a meat cleaver and later somehow gets the jump on the shotgun guy inside the house and then sets a second attacker outside the house on fire. No big deal but they didn't show much of how he did this stuff. I'll have to watch it again.

At the end I kept wondering what the two goons (or whatever the proper Aussie slang is for hoodlums) in the taxi were up to. At first I thought it was just to rob the driver of a few bucks, then they mentioned dying so it got more menacing. I wondered whether Ray or they were carrying a weapon. But, when Ray turns to the screen with that wicked smile as the final shot, it was a tell that Ray had the situation well in hand.

I can't believe there is any universe in which ray does not have a gun(s) within easy reach in that taxi.

I believe the shotgun guy inside the house is who was set on fire. He then used the shotgun on goon #2.

He has done so much dirt it would be impossible to walk around unarmed in Australia. Any day he could just bump into any random person looking to do him harm.

Spoiler:
ya right after he grabs the cleaver u see him clearly see another potential weapon and get an excited look on his face or an expression of "oh ya I can use that" which was some kind of device he could use as a flame thrower and he sets the dude with the shotgun on fire takes his weapon then headshots the dude outside with the automatic weapon

What rbk said about the house scene.

Spoiler:
Thought the final bit was interesting. Thought perhaps the "little of this, little of that" might be a code that they were looking for a mentor in Ray's old line of work, or they might pull him back in, in some future shows/movie.

But then, "just a little more down the lane" made it obvious to even me.

I'm guessing it turned out pretty badly for those blokes.

I missed something with the last scene with Freddy. Ray just accepted his apology for being set up, and walked away?

little of this, a little of that is what ray told the girl on the drug run when she asked.

I’m guessing Ray walked away bc Freddy told the truth.

Well yeah those guys are definitely goners, but who are they - do they know who Ray is?

In any case I thought the finale lacked poignancy or just some kind of meaningful ending. Season 2 finale had this in spades.

I'm probably being too harsh, all in all I loved this show and hope Scott has kept Ray alive for the follow up blockbuster movie. ;]
