def not engaging in discussion. Cheers!
Don't instigate discussions by proactively responding to my posts then, like you did. Your inconsistency is about the one consistent thing about you.
Now I'm sure there's some horrible conspiracy somewhere you can uncover without needing to provide a scintilla of evidence to support it, so you should get right on that, so I can laugh at you some more, 'bye now.

I think this is just an example of me being insane, but I fired up the pilot to this show and literally had to turn it off after the young FBI agent meets the girl in the bar. It was like the show stopped on a dime and started nosediving. The dialogue/acting was absolutely atrocious. Completely lost interest and couldn't make it through. It sounds like maybe I should muscle through and watch a few more episodes tho.

Binged it. I liked it. Similar to Mad Men in that it's slow and not a lot of action happens but it paints portraits of the characters psychological states.
Spoiler:
Everyone likes Holden but I appreciated Tench more. Holden came off as an arrogant and not in the wunderkind chafing against people who just don't understand him and his brilliant new techniques but because he genuinely seems like an ahole playing with fire. He ruins a guy's life and story points out that catching the rapist at the end was 9/10ths detective work (that Tench does) and Holden's part really came down to a high pressure situation at the end, not some magical key to solve crimes easily, but Holden gets most of the publicity. Tench came off as a crusty cop who loathes the work he does but he does it as some kind of personal sacrifice.

Could've done without Holden's love life. The actor who plays Kemper is the scariest man alive.

And from what I've read and seen about Richard Speck, that actor did a wonderful job. Guy was a complete loon.

This show is amazing. Me and the wife binge watched it and we don't usually binge watch shows. If you like any crime tv, Law and order, CSI, Criminal Minds etc.. You will love this show, it is the best of I have ever seen of that genre.

Meh, I like his GF. they have a good, interesting thing going.

the that I least liked was the case with the woman with breasts cut. I don't think they needed two eps for that. I kept looking how much time was left in the ep.

Oh yea is it just me or is the intro awful? Definitely enhanced the viewing experience by skipping that thing every ep.

It's like, ok, I get it. I've seen Seven. I get the mood. Can we please just move on?

Agreed re: intro. Show is decent and has been worth watching four episodes in. I feel like Tench, Wendy, and Kemper are doing a lot to keep it interesting. I also think the show is better when it veers towards being more procedural-oriented.

Not too impressed with the character of or acting by Holden's gf. Agreed w/ above post that the scene where they meet was particularly bad; in general I want to skip every scene she's in but never have.

What's with the totally unnecessary HUMONGOUS LETTERS announcing which city they're in?

The design of this show is fantastic. I assume they borrow those old cars from collectors that enjoy keeping vintage 70s cars in pristine condition? It's really cool.

Finished today. Great show. My favorite scene was probably
Spoiler:
Holden talking to the FBI guys about the tape. thought it was really well written.

exactly same reaction here, that was mega-painful cringe time, I had to turn it off. I'm gonna try again tomorrow with renewed vigor. I'd really been digging the strangeness of it before that.

The first episode really doesn't grab you. It actually left me wondering where the show was going. After the second episode I was totally in for the ride and couldn't wait to binge through it.

Meh, it's not like they don't acknowledge it. Carr and Ford have numerous arguments about whether they should standardize their questionnaire or allow the agents to follow their intuition and improvise during interviews. This show is about the development of a particular unit within the FBI and the show is only in season 1 so I think they can be forgiven for not referencing all of the issues that have become apparent with decades of hindsight.

All in all, I enjoyed the show. Not even close to elite but worth the binge if you have time to kill.
