Previews made it seem like it was only Lynn, Bri and Bime.

Bime has no business returning to the MS kitchen. Eddie is easily a better chef then half the remaining ones. That being said the format of last week's show forced a top level contestant out. Seems very often the strategy the mystery box winner attempts with his "advantage" rarely works, and the people with who are presented with the slight handicap end up over-achieving. (Just like in real life, where people with "disadvantages" end up being the biggest over-achievers)

No way Natasha wins this. Way too much of an unlikeable rich bitch. Jessie seems like the obvious choice, though she's also kind of over-privileged and a bit hard to root for. Luca's kind of the most likable, but I just don't think he's good enough.

Pretty surprised that Josh turned out to be completely insane

Tuned in 30 minutes late, what happened to Lynn?

Pretty silly to have contestants as judges.

I would prefer Lyn winning, but Bri was my 2nd choice.

I'm not sure if Eddie wasn't eligible to bring back or if Joe just thought Bimi was a better choice.

I hate when they bring contestants back for a second chance but since it had to happen im glad it was Bri. Bimi has very limited skills and Lynn cannot function well under pressure. Im sure Bri will go pretty far now(just like when josh was brought back last year). Next week I think Krissi or Luca go home.

Yayyyyy

Lolynn, the only thing he was ever consistent at was imploding under pressure. He was always overrated because he knew how to plate up but his core skills were repeatedly shown to be poor. Him going out in the fried egg challenge was predictable and satisfying at the same time, the only X factor on that was just if Bimi would badly **** it up.

I like Bri, but there's zero chance a veg ever wins this show. There's no added drama to her inclusion back into the fold.

ETA: It depends on how long she's been a veg and how much experience she has cooking meats. She may have more meat experience than I'm giving her credit for.

It was easy to say no vegetarian could win the comp at the start, but Bri got this far for a reason and despite not tasting the meat and having little to no experience working with it has performed very strongly even on challenges where it is all about animal protein like the salmon last night.

Id rank Bri ahead of Jordan, Krissi and Luca overall and she is close to the level of James. Natasha #1, Jessie #2 ldo.

At this point it is all coming down to what challenges are selected who gets to the last two anyway, at which point they have complete free reign to cook whatever they want however they want. Eddie dropping out last week sums up how easily one bad challenge can kill the chances of even a top contender as people like Krissi and Luca carry on.

I watched last season and never counted Christine out.

Tasting is crucial in cooking.

I do agree with you that Bri isn't going to win but I am pretty amazed that she has got this far. She has never cooked chicken before coming onto the show, looks like she is going to pass out/throw up at the sight of a large salmon, yet keeps putting out solid dishes.

As far as Christine, yes her palette(sp?) is what won her the competition last year. Also, the way she was able to plate the food being blind just puzzles me. She is truly unbelievable

Did anybody else think there was no way the contestants couldnt tell the two dishes apart. You could do that challenge a thousand times, and not once would Bimi have come with the potatoes that way Bri did.

Yeah- even if her food tasted great, she could have lost points on plating, and it would have made sense. She somehow also plated well, too. Amazing.

But tasting meat protein is not crucial, unless you are doing some kind of meat in sauce dish, and its hard to get wrong meat to sauce to veg pairings. Knowing you have it cooked through, which you can tell via a thermometer is going to cover the vast majority of situations and is exactly how a meat eater will cook the same dish. For example the chicken breast three ways elimination Bri survived on had no meat tasting, neither did the Salmon she did well on last night.

I'm not saying it's impossible to cook meat well without tasting it.

Are you saying not tasting meat is not a disadvantage?

btw, I used to be a vegetarian and would love it if Bri wins, but she is at a disadvantage (to whatever degree) that nobody else has to deal with. If she wins, then she will have overcome a challenge just as Christine did. They're not the same, obv, but they are similar in that they both have disadvantages that none of their competitors had.

Yeah I thought the exact same thing. Told my wife "No way Bri would ever do those mashed potatoes. If I'm a judge I know who did what right there."

Its a disadvantage, but the same can be said of Jordan's overconfidence which often creates errors for eg. It isnt an insurmountable drawback.

Did anyone else feel like Lynn was massively overrated? He had a couple of really good dishes but overall seemed kind of meh. Plus he sweat all over the food in that wedding challenge, how ****ing gross was that?

Yea so I just read a pretty compelling argument for Bri being a plant from the producers. Looks like she is a professional pastry chef/ actress and most likely not a vegetarian at all. Which would explain why she is able to cook meat so well. Recognize this chick? http://www.starnow.com/brikozior/pho...!photo-2216112
