Menwhile, an interesting analysis of Brendan's language skills and the imoact on the so-called 'confessions'...

How Speech, Language and Communication difficulties “Made a Murderer”

Because of his learning disabilities, he [Brendan Dassey] was seen for Speech and Language assessments every 3 years and his last school report (when he was 15 years 11 months old) is available here. This assessment is an interesting read because it shows exactly why Brendan was so vulnerable to the police interviewers. The area he has the most difficulties with is his working memory – in fact, in an assessment where all he has to do is recite back a string of numbers said to him by his assessor – he scored an age equivalent of 5 years 3 months.

During the infamous police interview, Brendan changed his story several times and kept responding ‘I don’t know’ to questions. The reason he did this is because he couldn’t remember what he said. Even if it was a few minutes prior, he was actually completely unaware of something he had just told the interviewers. It is clear when watching the tape of his ‘confession’, Brendan is trying to say what he thinks the interviewers want him to say, but he is struggling to do this because he can’t work out what he ‘should’ be saying.

Interesting review of evidence regarding Colburn's calling in Teresa's plates previous to the 'official' discovery on November 5th.

Thanks!

It's a proven fact that corpus vile finds Steven to be 'cuddly', so you might be on to something there...

His current rage at Steven may be the result of his advances being rejected.

Hell hath no fury like a corpus scorned.

Did you even read the article?

Theyíre saying she dropped the kid, he hit his head and started crying, she didnít want to get in trouble so she stomped/kicked him in the head to shut him up.

He later died in hospital.

Yes...... And this is what we in UK find strange about the U.S. system.. In UK she would go through Juvenile court & still be held/jailed until +18 atleast.

I could have worded that post better....

10 seems pretty young. The article did say that the law in Wisconsin is such that they have to charge anyone 10 and over as an adult initially, and that this case was likely getting sent to juvenile court

I would agree that 10 is a little young, but Iím not really sure where to set that line. I donít necessarily think that a policy of initially charging as an adult, then kicking it to juvenile court afterwards is the worst course of action.

Imo its a racist Law, bro, designed to catch all those super predators... That will no doubt catch a few others.

Obv this girl has problems that don't need compounded by the full force of the Law, and i'm sure you agree (Im not talking kid gloves ) that Social workers & juvenile courts are capable of handling this better, in assessing what need doing going forward.
She will need years of counselling & therapy.

My heart goes out to the parents & family, Who has suffered a tremendous loss.

Very interesting stuff!

At about 22 minutes in Buting discusses a study conducted by the FBI on its own 'scientific experts' which showed a shockingly high incidence of FBI personnel misrepresenting evidence in court cases to help secure convictions - in some cases where the accused was executed!

Efrompegtown ... In scotland its 16 as a adult, and 18 to vote & drink. And i'm good with that. And if charged with serious crimes before your 16 birthday you can & usually will be held indefinitely 90% of the time. Most until +21 for murder & will not be released until all the guidelines are met.
Although some do get out to early, is a problem over here, imo. It should be +25 minimum.

If a 10 year old commits murder there are some deep psychological things going on in that kids life. I don't think we can really say its his fault. It would also be inappropriate imo to not give that kid a second chance at life for a mistake he made at such a young age.

You mean like Kim Edwards & Lucas Markham jailed for life at 15 for murders they committed when 14 with a 20 year no parole tariff?
