It sheds a lot of light on just how much opportunity the defense had to test the blood themselves, and just how much they tried not to have it tested at all (e.g. submitting it as evidence at the latest date possible).

So, you're saying the defence had the money and availability of the FBI?

Michael C Hall is going to need to put on some weight before he plays SA in Fraley's version of the movie

Also, the only Walmart employee being sued retired 4 years ago.

To remove any perception of a conflict of interest, Lenk and Colborn shouldn't have participated in the missing person investigation when asked.

To help find a missing person, Lenk and Colborn should have participated in the missing person investigation when asked.

I can't say whether it was right or wrong to participate. It's easy to judge in hindsight when Teresa's already found dead and it all links to Steven doing it and blaming the cops. They don't have the benefit of looking back in hindsight.

What I can say is that there's no evidence that cops planted evidence, and any theory that they did plant evidence beyond the key is completely baseless speculation.

Problem: Work for sheriff department being accused of police misconduct.

Solution: Commit police misconduct.

Not the availability of the FBI, but LC/MS/MS is a very common procedure.

The defendant paid his attorneys a lump-sum amount for the case and it was up to the attorneys to represent him correctly, even if it went beyond what he paid.

They purposefully chose not to pursue testing or let the prosecution pursue testing earlier. If they had, they would have time to pursue testing afterwards. They gambled on prosecution not being able to test in time, and they lost.

It's all covered much better in the link I provided.

What are the theories on why SA shot TH in the garage, wouldn't he be afraid someone would hear the shots?

I thought I was doing better (or worse? let's just say "more") than that :/

No, because they were not involved in the misconduct. They were actually helping expose the misconduct of Colburns supervisor in 1998.. The guy actually being sued.

Its not hindsight when you recognize the issue beforehand and then make the mistake anyway.

Ask Fraley.

Beforehand it was a missing person investigation they were asked to participate in.

Man plans out methodical rape/murder, at the last minute decides to include his teenaged nephew who's pretty slow. Manages to completely clean both alleged crime scenes of any DNA, but decides not to burn the handcuffs and leg irons, leaves 11 spent shell casings on the floor of his garage, and leaves his blood all over her car.

Riiiiiigth.

Ask Fraley.
We are talking about a family who would hunt their food and shoot guns on a regular basis and you guys are asking if someone hearing gunshots would come off as suspicious?

Considering this can be proven with evidence.. Yes that appears to be the case.

Ok. I don't really have a problem with them assisting in an active missing persons investigation to be honest.

Why do they continue to be involved once they deem it a homicide investigation?

Why would they be the ones executing a search warrant on SA's trailer when there were other qualified law enforcement officers on scene from CC?

Ok, let's follow that line of thinking.

Yo have a family that owns an auto salvage/wrecking yard.

You really think using a car crushed would come off as suspicious?

Except, the didn't charge SA with the raping of TH, and didn't present a case that he murdered her in the trailer.

Nope, but crushing a car takes a lot of time and crushing a new car would probably create questions from other members of his family.. Also, he didn't really know how to use the crusher. This is according to himself and earl. Did you read the link I just posted laying all this out for you?

Right, concluding psychopathic, misogynistic murderers rape their victims before killing them is a stretch.

Doesn't matter, the one he kept above his bed was matched to the bullet that had TH dna on it.
