Here is a link from other wrongful arrest civil cases. But it appears most of them had evidence of police misconduct. Which is what gave them such large settlements.

Well we will always agree here. i hate the way the media handles these kinds of things.

Interviewer: Do you think branden dassey is being coerced into a confession by the police?

SA: YA, bc I am innocent

Interviewer: Do you think the police are smart enough to do that to him?

SA: ya, they are taking advantage of him

Interviewer: Do you think he is smart

SA: IDK, not really I guess.

How the media covers this interview: SA says his nephew is dumb, could this be a threat for confessing to the murder?

No.

That has also been discussed in this thread a number of times.

If I remember correctly, you came into this thread (which is about the television show) to argue without seeing the show and without reading a substantial portion of the thread.

Excuse me, but I will go back to ignoring you.

On the crow-glassman scale of 1-5 the bone fragments found on the avery property were at a 5. Academia study below.

http://www.academia.edu/3997583/Patt..._Human_Remains..

To me the bones were the most interesting part of the doc, because the body was not burned in the avery smelter then where were they burned.
So who had access to equipment to burn a body to this extent?

Steel belts (cause we all know how well steel burns).

Hi Lostinsaus, Have you got any proof/evidence of why TH car was damaged?
The only thing I can find is a post saying the crime lab reported that the broken tail light was in the back of the car but cannot find anything to back it up.

On a completely unrelated topic but still somewhat relevant to this series.

What other documentary series are out there that are of similar circumstances and are close to/ as captivating at this was? Aside from serial podcast which is similar.

Pam Strum found a phone in michicot down at the river, as she was in town doing a search of the Bars & speaking to owners, its on SA trianscripts day 2 page 232 onwards, but more interesting is that when she found the CAR it was double parked.

I am not bashing TH but it seems that she liked to go to Michicot Bars for a drink which for a young lady is not abnormal.

I got to admit i am dumbfounded that a P.I. can give the answers she gives to D.Strang,"Don't know" "Maybe" "I can't remember" "No I never got his name" "So was it a mantiowoc officer, A: I can't remember".

The jinx is very different and imo not nearly as good. Almost the entirety of it is talking about the history of the guy and a bunch of circumstantial stuff and very little presenting evidence in the events.

All that said, it's worth a watch

Annoyed because we have never heard what time TH would usually finish & her routine after. Most ppl do the same mundane things after work especially in a small town.

"The Staircase" is similar for courtroom stuff.

"Central Park 5" is good.

"West Memphis 3" is good.

"Dear Zachary" is somewhat in the same ballpark but will rip your heart out (if you have a heart).

This post is why everyone was concluding you were making terrible posts. And it seems your timeout didn't help. Please stop speculating.

I think for the west Memphis 3 the actual documentary name is "Paradise Lost"

Well I just finished watching this. Have also skimmed through this thread but have not read every post. Nor have I read anything else about this case online or anywhere else.

My feeling is that they are both extremely likely to be guilty. The idea that Dassey's cousin would make up a story about Brendan telling her about the crime, for absolutely no reason, does not make much sense. She then claimed she made it up on the stand, but could not even give a reason why she did. In terms of probability, it is far more likely she was lying on the stand to save her cousin, than she was lying originally for absolutely no reason.

Also the taped phone calls between Brendan and his mom. A lot was made of the investigators telling him to call his mom, but that did not seem strange to me. They could not have possibly been sure he would essentially admit his part in the crime when talking to his mother on the phone... in fact would be far more likely that he would say the cops forced/tricked him into saying something untrue. But he didn't.

I believe Steven Avery was/is a sociopath. There was little reason to believe he didn't do it, other than his own protestations of innocence. The fact that he had been wrongly accused once before has no real bearing on his odds of being guilty this time. The car on his property, the blood, the bones, the key, the DNA, the bullet, his nephew's confession... if you want to believe it's all a frame job by the cops then no evidence will really sway you anyway.
