I've been watching the first two seasons on hulu. Made the mistake of getting interested in something at work, so I just finished up S2E5.

It's a little--not sure of the right term--soap-operatic (?) for my tastes. Overall I like it and will keep watching, but the side stories detract. Also some plot holes that bothered me. I'll spoiler just in case:

Spoiler:

When Villanelle escapes from Julian, she drives right by the cops & Eve. As if all traffic wouldn't be immediately stopped and searched.

Having trouble believing that MI6 would allow their relationship to go on as such. I get they're after the people behind Villanelle, just doesn't ring true to me that they'd let her go on.

Sometimes the drama seems forced. In one scene, Eve and the Oxford guy were out for dinner at a chicken place, and just about to kiss, when (of course) the phone rings. IDK, seems like quite a few fake-tension things like that.

A little slow for my taste.

On the good side, I think that Jodie Comer is fantastic. Love the way she can turn on a dime as the situation calls and become a different person.

Really like Kim Bodnia as Konstanin, he really seems to play the stereotypical Russian fatalist well.

Anyway, I think it stay in my regular rotation, but not something I'm going to buy the DVDs and rewatch or anything.

golddog,

FYI: If you hate contrived tension involving cell phones, don't ever watch Orphan Black.

Latest episode was great. Villanelle's outfit on the golf course was ****ing hilarious.

Krunic,

Thanks for the warning. I've heard of that and may check it out.

As I said, I can't put my finger on it. It's not as if Breaking Bad had plenty of side-stories, and I loved that. I'm enjoying Killing Eve, but not loving it.

Villanelle way the best character. I just loved it when she was about to kill Frank in the safe house:

Frank: "I've got money"
Villanelle: "I've got money"
Frank: "I have children"
Villanelle: "I don't want your children!"
Frank: confused, WTF look

Just the way she delivered that line and the look on her face, as if the children were an offer rather than an attempt to play upon her non-existent mercy.

"I was trained to look devastating... obviously"

Too bad that last scene on the bridge was pure cringe, ruined the whole episode.

I liked the season even though the Villanelle/Eve relationship seemed to reemerge sort of out of the blue. Pacing seemed weird on that.

I enjoyed the Carolyn/Geraldine scenes. High point was Villanelle in Russia.

they walked for a decent amount of time, in the opposite direction, then when the cameras zoomed out, there were like 20 feet apart, lol.

I'm just in it for Villanelle - I never bought that Eve had her own "monster" at any level - that was just forced.

Is there another season? The story was kind of losing its direction, I don't think there is a need for more story.

Anyone else think that this season is terrible? Outside of maybe the comic relief of Villanelle becoming Christian...

The story just seems stuck and boring or at best nonsensical.

Seems like it's been nonsensical the last couple of seasons. I'm not at all sure where they're going, and I don't think the writers can pull it out ala Breaking Bad.

Interesting enough to keep watching, but not a priority.

I’m watching because it’s the final season and because of Jodie. Aside from that.... it has not been good for awhile lol
