Re: Karl Pilkington - an idiot abroad
For me its been the funniest thing on TV while its been on, I'm usually in fits of laughter throughout the episodes. Even the weak episodes have some hysterical moments. I mean Karls outlook on the world is anything but boring imv, each to their own I guess.

This was the best one imo. Every sentence that came out of Karls mouth was comedy gold.

Why were they in that scene from the Matrix with the white room with the soft chairs and old t.v.

"We have come up with a great idea for series two which Karl really likes. When I say "really likes" I mean he said, "hmm not sure." Trust me - this is a result. That's Karl in positive mode. Leave it with me. "

Re: Karl Pilkington - an idiot abroad
Skimmed the thread and didn't see an answer to this (and google was of no use): does anyone know if this is airing in the US at all? It's not coming up anywhere on my Directv.

Re: Karl Pilkington - an idiot abroad
I think the last episode illustrateded the problem with this show. Steve and Ricky just shooting the **** with Karl always makes for the funniest bits. Karl is not a main character and cannot fill a show all by himself.

Your problem with the show "Karl Pilkington - An Idiot Abroad" is there's too much Karl Pilkington?

Re: Karl Pilkington - an idiot abroad
I thought the series was great. Much better than most of the **** that's on television nowadays.
The last episode made me wet my pants with laughter. It was like a televised podcast.
Haha that's how I always imagined them when listening to all those podcasts. The looks on their faces when he starts up on something

I watched the first episode and thought it was quite funny, that being said, the guy clearly isn't an idiot.

Re: Karl Pilkington - an idiot abroad
I just downloaded the Ricky Gervais Guide To... podcast series and so far it's as good if not better than the XFM podcasts. It's the same cast of Gervais, Merchant, Pilkington.

Don't know what you mean by "XFM podcasts", but the XFM radio shows are far far far better than any podcasts they did afterwards and it really and truly isn't close in any way. To any new listerners, just listen to the old radio shows and don't bother with the podcasts, trust me.

Re: Karl Pilkington - an idiot abroad
Thought the series was great, I LOL'd during every single episode and was quite hysterical in a couple. Karl may be levelling somewhat but his simplistic view on the world and ignorant views of different cultures makes for T.V gold.
Highly recommended and cant wait for season 2

So happy Ricky seems to be succeeding in convincing Karl to do season 2. Woooooo

I downloaded all the radio shows and podcasts from t***** sites so I get them all confused. What I'm talking about is a series of shows called The Ricky Gervais Guide To... series, I think there's 5 or 6 of them, I've listened to 3 of them so far and they're gold. Karl is funnier on these than any of the other shows because Ricky and Steve ask him more specific questions about topics and it sets up Karl to spout more insanely ridic theories.

There's about 10 of them now I think. They are all on iTunes for a small fee.
Also, to get the radio shows go to pilkipedia.co.uk, it's the best resource for Karl stuff.

Aye Ricky said the same thing in the interview, figured as much. Karl probably isn't aware though

Yeah, he probably doesn't understand assets, and thinks that to be a millionairre you have to actually have a million quid in notes, preferably stashed away under your bed, or in an oversized piggy bank

The only funny thing about this show is Karl's an idiot. What did you find funny?

this is a rather dumb post.
karl is obviously pretty sharp and a decent percentage of the stuff he says are very astute observations that would be funny no matter who was saying them. most comedians would kill to be able to come up with material like his.
