The show isn't really that funny as comedy but it's a great travel show and super entertaining. Really liked all the episodes so far.

The whole point of the show is to make you laugh though.

It's meant to be funny to see and hear Karls views on everything and how he reacts.

As I said the first two where up to the billing but the third was pretty poor. If the first one was as bad as the third, I probably wouldn't bother watching the rest.

ya pretty much, I still liked it though.

I liked his bit on the postal codes, that was hilarious. "That's the real wonder."

i like the below image because i really enjoy it when ricky talks about how smart karl is (this was more common in the xfm days). nowadays it's just 'LOL HE HAS A HEAD LIKE A ****ING ORANGE WHAT A STUPID MANC TWONK' x1000, which gets tedious as hell.
Yeah this.

"For some reason when you think of cowboys you do think of manliness, but I think maybe it's losin' it a little bit now, maybe cowboys aren't like that, since, you know...brokeback mountain, and the village people. John Wayne, didn't he turn out to be gay?"

"There's a load of bees here!" followed by him running in his giant hat in front of bull-riding cowboys had me and the ladyfriend in tears.

Chichen Itza is my favorite episode so far. That whole sequence with the Mexican cowboys was hilarious.

IDK how late I am on this episode, but I'm watching the one in Mexico. Halfway through and its one of the funniest things I've seen. I loved Karl running away from the bull-pen thing and coming back going "lots of bees over there, is anywhere safe?" Also, his gag reflex is hilarious.

I liked what he said at the end about the way of life there, or at least from what he observed about it. As others have mentioned, he's very funny, intentionally or otherwise, but he can also be pretty insightful.

I liked him giving the bagged (whatever, potato chips, or something) to the Mayan folks, trying to broaden their horizons, that was pretty great (in both a humanitarian sense, and a comedy sense).

as someone that doesn't watch any travel shows, this might be the show i look forward to most now with mad men going on hiatus

think the egypt episode showed that the show is a lot better if karl is in a good mood most of the time.

does anybody have an idea if there's any plans for a second season?

I quite liked this episode.

Thought it was rather funny and I completely agree with him on the people just abusing you trying get you to eat in their shop.

I liked the episode but it was the least funniest. Although "So I got up and had a dance" then the cutaway to him dancing was probably the most hysterical moment of the series.

loved the "70p" text message. I really want to do that to someone.

Latest one is Rio, the guy they find to go round with Carl is a proper weirdo and seems to want to bum Karl at any opportunity

One of the funniest eps for me though they didn't show much of Rio but they show some pussy on the beach (lol).

Was kinda hoping Karl would get a back, sack and crack.

That would have made some quality telly.

btw, maybe you british folks can explain this:

what's up with Karl/Ricky/Stephen starting half their conversations with the world "Alright?" as a question. Is that a them thing, or is that just a British thing?

British thing.

It's a mixture of "hello, how are you?" all rolled into one.

If you'd like Karl's own thoughts on the subject listen to the podcast series 2 episode 6 from 13mins in.

They made Rio look absolutely miserable. And Karl's got a point with the helicopter being better than the wonder. I really don't know how a statue built in modern times qualifies as a wonder of the world anyway.

eh, it's not an "offical (UN)" thing anyway; and actually the colliseum in Rome is in the list intead of Giza pyramid in Egypt. The new 7 wonders list was based off internet voting; Brazil has a lot of ppl.

I wish he'd go to Angkor Wat rather than a 3rd time in south america for the last ep...

Every place they've shown looks miserable except maybe Jordan imo. Not really far from the truth either I think.

True but I would expect most of those places to be miserable. If I was going on a trip like this I'd be looking forward to seeing Rio over all those other places. It looked like the worst one though.

On an unrelated note, I love how he got all jealous of the dolphins.

How many total episodes? I quit after Mexico. Sounds like Brazil and Llamaland were even more boring.
