Of the series? Boyd isn't the only one with a silver tongue. I think you're forgetting Mags, Limehouse and Quarles.
Limehouse was the best after Boyd in my opinion. I read an interview with Yost that said he couldn't imagine the series ending without seeing Limehouse at least once more.
This should be an interesting final season. I can't imagine Boyd not 100% knowing that Eva is a rat from the second that lawyer called him. She gets released from prison right after Boyd's had multiple U.S. Marshalls tell him that they're going to be looking through his life with a fine tooth comb and plan to lock him up forever. That scene at the end on the bridge was kind of unnecessary. Although Raylon's "Don't worry, everything is going to be just fine" was pretty lol.
Nice and tidy ending, as expected. Damn good season overall. Not sure where I'd rate it but the ending was a nice way to start next season. 1 year to go!!
Not sure I like how clean and straightforward the Crowe storyline ended, with just Wendy shooting Darryl. But that Raylan and Kendall scene in the interrogation room was great. Olyphant just so elite.
I don't believe Boyd knows what's really going on with Ava. Can't wait to see Boyd+Duffy+Katherine robbing banks next year..
I wasn't as down on the Ava storyline as much as other people, but seemed unnecessary to spend so much of the finale on it if it was just gonna end with her getting out because of something totally unrelated.
The shoot out with the Mexicans was great too. Anyone else notice who one of the Mexicans was?
Also, here's Sepinwall's interview with Graham Yost. It's very good, Yost addresses a lot of stuff, admits that some of the stuff maybe didn't work great, etc. Also explains some stuff that ppl here have questioned

They needed to show Ava was desperate to get out or else she'd never turn on Boyd.

Feels like Boyd's gotta end up killing Ava in front of raylan, right?
So what was the deal with the Mexican dude who came inside during the shootout? It was like he came in, looked, and started shooting at nothing (and then Boyd shot him from the other side). Anyone else think that was really weird?
I thought the finale and the season were fine but a little disappointing overall. The finale wrapped up way too neatly as it became clear the only point of the season was to set up the next one. They needed to move the pieces on the board to get Boyd/Raylan/Ava to the appropriate places. The stories they told to do it were fairly entertaining but ultimately didn't amount to much. I liked the crowes and thought Rappaport was really interesting in the role. It would have been nice to have a more interesting end game for them.
I think Boyd definitely suspects Ava (if he doesn't outright know). How could he not?
1) don't like how they don't let raylan be a badass anymore and take out bad guys.
danny kills himself and wendy kills daryl COME ON FREE RAYLAN
2) would've been sweet if in the shoot out with the cartel dudes tim had just str8 head shot at least one of them with his 1st shot.
they've already established him as being a sniper and total bad ass would've been a nice way to make up for his pathetic lack of involvement in the series.
(remember that ep from i dunno which season when the bad guys were trying to steal the baby from the pregnant mom on the orders of the corrupt prison guard and raylan n tim busted in and raylan gave that speech about if you don't drop your weapon in 3 secs gonna get a bullet thru your brain stem and dude was in the middle of saying "look this is----" and before he could even finish the sentence tim had dropped him with a single shot thru the brain)
but despite this season being a major drop off from the previous 3 seasons, i'm still super sad its over and i have to wait god knows how long for more justified.
i do partly understand why this season felt so put together on the fly (esp considering they had actors they planned on playing a major role in the show randomly drop out during filming) and i have no doubt next season will be epic.
Take out all the Ava stuff and the emotional journeys of Raylan and Boyd would have made this season elite. Alas, it is easily the worst season for me.
The scene with prisoners giving ava ice cream cannot be unseen.
I think that Boyd and Raylan will both regret getting sucked back into "the game" again. Boyd wanted out. He was tired of all the killing and almost being killed, and most importantly, he lost his girl, Ava. He may not have gone totally straight, but he would have tried to live a "cleaner" life. But then Win Duffy and his crew seem to have made an offer that he can't refuse.
As for Raylan, he was gone to Florida until the Feds decided they wanted to go after Boyd. This was also something that Raylan could not pass up. And so the stage is set for the final season. I wouldn't be surprised if he bites it at the end. Something along the lines of him trying to toe the line and not doing anything illegal, which ends up coming back to haunt him. Just a longshot guess.
