Came here looking for the Justified season 2 thread but didn’t find it. So I thought I would get it started since the new season premiers in a few days Feb 9 on FX 10PM EST.

Actually I just finished watching the first season on DVD and really liked it. It has filled that gap that my favorite show 24 left very nicely.
FX has been running promos and teasers. Here is one of the promos. Dig the Star Wars analogy. Although it reminds me of how the whole show started out.

It would be nice if they bring back Ava Crowder. She is a babe and she seems like a good gal for ol’ Raylan. But please don’t spoil it for me if you know she comes back or not!

Also, too bad for Boyd’s daddy. Thought he was a great character and brought a lot to the table. But I suppose we will have some new bad guys for Rayaln to tussle with!

Was at Parx last night and saw a commercial for it. Was psyched when it said it premiered on Wednesday. Show def needs more Ava and....uhhhh....the dude....Raylan's arch nemesis (can't think of his name since it's been so long)

I recall season one starting off good, going south, then really coming on strong in the last 4 or 5 episodes.

There were a couple of slow episodes in there. Like the dentist episoded out in Cali. That one was off the wall.

Right now I dont have any reason to believe the up coming season will drop-off or not be as good as the first season. Actually some shows do better in their second season, like 24.

He will definately be back according to all the promos that FX is running.

first season was decent i suppose. But it seems like the writers can't make up their minds on whether they want it to be a serial or let every episode stand alone.

They couldn't utilze Groggins during the first 5 or so episodes last season since he was filming Predators at the time. I agree it was pretty formulamatic during that time, with a big turnaround in quality when Beau and Boyd got out of jail.

Would anyone say Raylan Givens is a modern day Cowboy?

Kinda surprised it started off right where the previous season ended.

Jeremy Davies is a very solid addition. Should be a good season.

That old chick has some kind of evil in her. Im liking the new villians so far.


The whole hour seemed to roll by so damn quick tho, it seemed like a few thing happened and bam it was already 40 min into the show.

The first time I checked the time left on the DVR there was only about 20 min left. Went by so fast.

I agree. Didnt seem like much had happened and then the episode was almost over.
Although I dont think the first episode offered much. I was expecting more of a bang for the first episode. But I do think the season will improve.

It was killing me that I couldnt figure out who Mags Bennett is.... she was the file clerk or whatever on Dexter...

I dont get why people complain about the side stories? they have to happen otherwise him just chasing Boyd all the time would play out quickly, at least now they have the Bennetts and I bet at some point the show shifts to Miami for a season etc

Agree 100%. The little detours like the episode with W. Earl Brown (Dan Dority) are part of what make the show so good. I was really pleased with the pilot and am consistently impressed with how they make LA look like Kentucky.

This was a better episode than last week's. The pregnancy thing was messed up tho and OMG Boyd Crowder hanging out with -----!

Liked both episodes so far a lot. The Boyd reveal was cool, love Raylan and Boyd together, really liked the Gary return and conversation with Raylan. And I love Winona sooo much it hurts me.

another great ep. I love the way they can just move through the setting to all these different people all of whom are pretty well fleshed-out (from Mags with the girl, Boyd and Eva, Arlo and Helen) and you can just kind of move around Kentucky and get such a great feel.

It kind of reminds me of on of the best movies of 2010, "Winter's Bone". This was esp the case last week since the movie centers around a young girl carrying responsibilities beyond her years and wondering a large country community in search of help.
