Anyway, I'm still enjoying the show but probably won't watch it that much longer.
That is one thing I can overlook, I mean real cops are fat, humorless and spend 80% of their time in front of a computer.
How much realism do we really want?

4 is definitely my favorite episode so far.

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on this show. I'm surprised so many of you like it; it just seems like every week is some silly little sub-story (while the main plot, if there is one, is never, ever advanced at all) with ridiculous characters, and every week they include about 5 cheesy scenes with people talking about drawing their guns like it's a ****ing 1950s Western.

I accidentally watched the last two episodes out of order (watched the top one on my DVR, didn't realize I had another one backlogged) and it turns out they're completely juxtaposable. I don't really like that in TV shows. Not to mention that the episode w/ that Pinter guy two weeks ago was legitimately bad.

I loved The Shield and I like Damages but I'm pretty close to giving up on this one.

It IS the story of a western hero in the modern world, if that leaves you cold there’s not much to like.

It's the other characters getting caught up in it that bothers me. Like, episode 2, one of the escaped convicts is like "there's no way you can draw your gun and shoot me before I take your head off" which stuck out like a sore thumb as the writers being like "lol look at how badass this dude is with his gun drawing skillz!", then in ep 3 the black dude's like "let's go practice drawing our guns like it's a showdown!" which was just cringeworthy awful, ep 4 had more of the same stuff...if it's supposed to be this dude in the modern world, the other characters around him don't really seem very "modern".

pretty sure one legged black guy was Sampson from half baked which makes it even cooler. And I personally liked ep 3 the best, found the black thug character hilarious.

Please tell me that you just forgot about Rescue Me?

Haha, because it hasn't been on lately so it wasn't fresh in my mind like other FX shows.

the acting was pretty dumb. also the guy from ocean's eleven as a revenge seeking drug dealer is a little farfetched

Sounds like not much has changed. I've still only seen the first 3.

Never would have started watching this if not for the Deadwood connection - and now I think I'm done. Olyphant isn't nearly enough to make up for how boring, repetitive, and unoriginal the rest of the show is.

I really enjoyed this episode. Was the first episode that Raylan didn't have to kill anyone. Also, the more serial aspects of the show took the forefront. I don't mind episodic shows but I think this show will be best focusing on recurring characters and story arcs rather than the week to week stuff.

The scene where Raylan takes a walk down memory lane in his Aunt's old house was outstanding. Hopefully the show can continue where it left off here.

i thought the first episode was great but all the deviations from the two main characters is kind of annoying

i think it will get better with time though

Pretty sweet episode tonight. Liked the more serialized plotline and more emotion shown by Raylan. Two complaints: 1) no cowboy hat; 2) how did the crooked sheriff open up the rear door of the cop car from the inside?

I've always assume they just have the child locks on and can turn it off at any time.

Liked it a lot as well. The Crowder conflict is the best storyline, glad to see daddy Crowder show up. I think I might be in love the Winona, something obscenely sexy about the way they dress her. Really liked the one on one dialogues in this episode, particularly the one between Raylan and Ava about killing a man.

Yeah definitely a good episode to get me back into it, instead of using it as background TV for when I'm doing other things.

just watched the last 3 eps tonight (been going out on for $2 pints on tuesdays so i've been slacking, also the only person i know irl who watches this (my dad) had soured on it due to the lack of continuity from week to week which had given me even less reason to stay current)

back on the train, very excited!
