Is there any chance Jersey Shore is just like The Hills where it's made to look real and it's really all just scripted? Found it odd that there's a director for each episode in the credits, or maybe that's par for all reality shows and I just don't notice it.

All reality shows have directors. I'm assuming they aid a bit in what's going on but I doubt they goaded Ronnie into knocking 2 guys out and spending a night in jail. At least they didn't have to.

The reason this episode sucked is simply because it focused on Snooki and Sammie/Ronnie. The Situation didn't do anything besides drop a kitchen tray, and I don't think Pauly did one damn this entire episode. You take the top 2 characters out of the storyline and the show falls flat.

Here's what I think is an easier way to sum up how this show works: Situation and Pauly can carry the show if given the spotlight and left to their own the devices... the rest have to fall out of line (physical in-fighting, altercations with the public, embarrassing situations/exposures, arrests, etc.) to add value to the show. When you don't give the spotlight to the Big Two and the Bottom Six don't do one of the above, you have a stinker of a show.
