tuq,
MTV doesn't need huge ratings. Jersey Shore could easily have an 6-8 season shelf life. Real World is going into is like 50th season.

Real World has new characters every season, though. People will get sick of the same seven people (plus this new girl/herm) eventually, especially since half of them are already annoying. I think we get a fourth season of JS, then a season or two of a Snooki spinoff, then a quick fade into obscurity for all of them.

Not to mention inevitable cast dissension negotiating contracts, chance of cast members bailing, etc.
I've been watching mtv/vh1 reality shows for most of my life and it seems to me that it's more likely that they will keep running it over and over. There are like 20 seasons of the real world/road rules challenge. How many seasons of Date my Mom are there? THERE ARE 3 SEASONS OF FLAVOR OF LOVE.....AND 3 DIRECT SPIN OFF SHOWS! And there are 2 other spins off shows off of THOSE spin off shows, and a majority of those 5 shows have multiple seasons!

Now, if you're saying number of seasons with a majority of the original cast, then 4-6 sounds right. But I don't see why they would stop with just one cast, there have got to be more people out there who would love to be on JS.

Oh there will only be one or two more seasons with this cast, but they will just a find a new generation of guidos.

This is so true.

The women, every single one of them have barely more intelligence than pond life. Vets put dogs down that have more use on earth than those so called women.

Pauly D is a great guy and is a character but without Sitch there would be no show.

I think season 3 will be the last with this bunch and i just pray ron and sam have split up or they're completely ignored as they ruin the show, at least the others ******edness is entertaining.

I was referring to the current cast as far as shelf life goes, it should surprise nobody if they run the franchise into the ground by trotting out new and no doubt much less expensive castmates, who have the added benefit of being less expensive and thus keep production costs under control.

I hope all the girls get pregnant or die in car crashes so they don't make it into season 4. Angelina can come back fwiw. At least the bitch brought somethin to the show.

This show NEEDS new bitchez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep they arleady had a new cast ready to start filming if the first season crew didn't sign on to do season 2. I see them potentially trying this for atleast a season after the ratings drop big time.

I had to force myself to finish watching that abortion of a finale. This entire season has been off-kilter...I really feel like it's becoming more scripted or extremely edited to the point of no reality. Regardless...still some of the funniest **** on TV and that's not sayin much.

Also...Rocio was looking ****ing fine as hell!

Anyone else just skip through most/all of the dialogue between Ronnie/Sammie this season?

*Ronnie cheats on Sam and burns down her house*
Sam: Oh my God, Ronnie, you cheated on me and burned down my house. Why are we even together!?
Ronnie: See, Sam, you're always starting fights!
Sam: But you cheated on me and burned down my house and also took a crap on my dog while he slept!
Ronnie: Yeah, but you're the one who started an argument about it.
Sam: All we ever do is fight, why are we together?
Ronnie: We only fight because you start arguments all the time.
*Ronnie stabs Sam's parents to death*
Ronnie: I love you, baby.

[privately, on camera]
Sam: Oh, that Ronnie. He can be a real dick sometimes but inside he's just a big teddy bear. I know we're meant to be together.

Why is every single scene featuring Vinny around Ramona an absolute facepalm? That dinner scene was so awkward! On seeing it, my gf snap commented "she really doesn't seem that into him" and looking at the body language in all her time in this episode, she really didn't! Pissed off that he's leaving, or just using him to get camera time?

I would like to call Vinny a somewhat close second but he's so goddamned insecure that he may actually rank lower than 3/4 of the ****ing narcissists that make up this show. Pauly's reaction to the BS drama the girls tried to lay on him tonight only serves to solidify my opinion.

You guys have been fond of throwing up rankings throughout the past two seasons. Mine have always been:

Pauly>>>Vinny>>>>>>>>>>rest>>>>>>>>>Situation in large part based on the fact that dude is in his late twenties and the way he deals with women (which a lot of people in this thread seem to admire) is like that of a seventeen-year-old QB in some small ass town in the middle of nowhere. Dude got to miami and has been exposed as a ****ing clueless clown when it comes to pulling prime ass. If they would have edited this season in that direction, they could have made this "Jersey Shore: Situation Can't Get Laid, Even With MTV Cameras Following Him Around and ****."
Having Vinny > Situation is just pure lol. Vinny is so weak passive, boring, uninterseting, and beta that it's a wonder that he even got on the show. Like I've said before, I think he maybe had a more interesting personality prior to getting into a house with people who had even more alpha personalities than himself and as a result he just kinda shrunk into the background. The cocky fistpumping that he was doing in the pre-season 1 interviews and in the club is not the guy who's in that house.

Also, thinking that Situation can't get laid just because of what you saw edited on the show is extremely naive. It pretty much goes without saying that all of the guys on this show now get large amounts of groupies and constant tail (even Vinny now at this point). It should be painfully obvious that Vinny is purely feeding off his mini celeb status and that he is very very average when it comes to women (excluding using JS status obv). It's also clear that Situation was def getting laid plenty before the show as well.

If the cameras weren't around there's no chance in hell that his child like, innocent boy routine, in the middle of a loud upscale Miami night club to go a gogo dancer gets him anywhere.

so much wrong with the finale. everyone has mentioned most of it, just the awkwardness with vinny and ramona, the wierd emoness that transpired from the word fake was so bad. Even at the end they all made up real quick which ruined any chance of a interesting reunion. Im not even sure if i want to tune into next season, the last few episodes were awful and even im starting to get tired of the same things over and over again.

I probably won't watch season 3.

If the cast of Jersey Shore were on Survivor (not BB, just too complex), who would win?

Well all the girls except for JWoww would quit within a day, so they're out.

It'd come down to Vinny and Pauly, with the house (jury) probably voting for Pauly.
