Also one thing i was confused about in this scene was where ronnie was, everybody could have gotten some and we know ronnie isnt one to pass up grenades. I suppose though that even as dumb as he is he realized that he couldnt get tail right under sammies nose and claim to love her 5 minutes later.
yea but it's a little bit different when the cameras are rolling and the situation is tucking you in.

It was the first reality show I ever remember watching. I said this in another thread:
"You want a realistic action/drama.. watch Cops."

I disagree. I think people just came into this season with the expectation that it was going to be staged or purposely faked due to last seasons success. There's lots of stuff from season 1 that could seem staged as well but people didn't really complain much.

This season they are basically celebrities, last season they weren't. You get c*ckblocked and resistance far less often when you have that kind of social status. A lot of things change when you jump into that social class.

You realize the person you're responding to has already mentioned that he worked with MTV on this season of Real World right? He clearly would have some insight into the matter.

I've worked on reality shows very, very similar to Jersey Shore (Real World). Real World is not staged at all, and given the absurd amount of similarities between the shows, I would be willing to bet Jersey Shore is not staged anywhere close to the amount people here are assuming.

Do you have any experience in the industry?

Insight into what? Being wrong?

There is nothing on TV that isn't scripted or staged, or worse, read through a teleprompter. You can work for Ted Turner for all I care.. it doesn't change anything.

** I didn't see you above me.. I wasn't saying that Jersey Shore was staged.. or that it isn't. I couldn't care less. My point is to all the "it's staged.. it's fake.. wah wah wah" crowd itt. All TV's staged or scripted in some way or another. And I wasn't arguing against anything in particular that you wrote.

I wasn't suggesting that the show would be better or worse, just that if they go back to the Shore in S3 and they try to pretend like MVP are going out and bringing girls back randomly I will call shenanigans, because by the time they started filming over this past summer they were clearly famous, even more so than they were in S2. Especially since they're going back to their original spot.

I'm just thinking about how the producers can even frame this show, because it's going to look like the Kardashians or whatever other dumb reality shows exist about famous people pretending to be normal. This kind of show can last commercially for a while because the general public will eat it up, but the shelf-life of its genuine awesomeness is at most through the end of this season, based on its inherent structure. JS is awesome only as long as we believe these are actual real human beings acting at least somewhat based on their real personalities - when that trust is eroded, this show is lame reality show fodder bunched in with the rest of the crap on TV.

If you guys could read I stated that I never said whether I thought JS was staged. Then after that, speaking to the "it's all faked and staged" blah blah crowd, I said that ALL TV is staged or scripted IN SOME WAY. You ******s just can't read very well.

"As with other reality shows, The Real World has received criticism for being staged.[24][84] During a reunion show featuring the first four Real World casts, Heather Gardner, of the original New York cast, asked some members of the San Francisco cast if their situations were real. She noted that situations from the original season seemed to repeat themselves in the other incarnations, stopping short of accusing them of acting. On an edition of the E! True Hollywood Story that spotlighted the series, cast member Jon Brennan revealed that he was asked by the producers to state on the air that he felt hatred towards housemate Tami Roman for her decision to have an abortion, and that he refused to do so, stating that although he disagreed with her decision, he did not feel hatred towards her. Another accusation is that producers selectively edit material in order to give the false impression of certain emotional reactions or statements from the castmates.[85]

Some critics see the very concept of being in "the real world" as a misnomer, asserting that in the real world, people do not live in luxurious dwellings for free, are not "given" jobs in the media without any effort, and are not taken to exotic locations for free."
