I can't wait to see if JB rocks an iPhone or Android?

Heller is a bitch. Talk about a short memory. The S04 scene where Jack saves him and Audrey is the GOAT for me.

Also, I love Stephen Saunders.

I still have my hopes up that someone will make a mega 1hour-2hour recap video of the previous 8 seasons as we get closer.

My favorite moments of the show (that I can think of off top of my head)

- jack bauer interrogating his brother (I KNOW YOU'RE LYING, THE MACHINE KNOWS YOU'RE LYING - 4 MORE CC'S!!!)

- jack bauer going after logan in full ****ing terminator gear (THAT'S JACK BAUER!!! *insert look of terror here*)

- jack bauer shooting saunders' wife in the knee in their house, threatening to paralyze her for life with his next shot

- jack killing chapelle execution style

- nuke going off at the start of Season 5,6?, huge wtf for me i didn't think it would actually go off.

obviously im prolly missing like 100 others, which is why i need a recap video

Spoiler:
DAMNIT!

"ITS ABOVE THE KNEE! SHE CAN STILL WALK!"

I've been rewatching some episodes on Netflix recently. I get so nostalgic. Personally, Season 4 has 3 of my favorite all time 24 moments - including my absolute #1 which is

-Tony saving Jack and Audrey in Season 4. They are collecting some data when they get ambushed, and Jack knows CTU has been compromised because the bad guys knew they were there. He makes a call to "the only person he can trust" They try to get out, but run into more hostiles, and Jack runs out of ammo. He's a sitting duck, holding his empty pistol while two hostiles round the corner with automatic weapons....but suddenly they are shot and their bodies fall to reveal... TONY!! "JACK!?!?" "TONY!?!?". I get goosebumps just typing about it. GOAT 24 moment.

-Jack stopping Heller's execution. He goes in rogue after the president orders a strike on the building to prevent Heller's execution from being televised. Jack's interaction with CTU director Erin Driscoll goes something like this -

"How much time do I have?"
"Just under 6 minutes"
"How many hostiles"
"Thermal scanners count 16"
"*growls* I'm not turning back"

Saves everybody. Amazing.

-Jack and Paul Raines intentionally engage in a firefight with a full SWAT team of mercenaries using a local gun store owned by two civilians as home base. They have to do this because some corrupt company detonated an EMP so CTU can't find them - unless Jack is smart enough to start a firefight intentionally. Tony predicted that he would be brazen enough to do this, but an untrusting Michelle Dessler (no doubt biased against Tony because of his alcohol problems that derailed their once happy relationship) refused to position CTU teams based on Tony's advice. Despite this, Jack and a one-handed Paul Raines fight off the mercenaries. At the end, a thought to be dead hostile picks up a gun and fires at Jack, but Raines jumps in front of the bullet. "I owed you, Jack"

I loved both the solo rescue scene and the intentional firefight. I'm glad others recognize the genius that is/was '24'.

He should at least make a cameo. Any word on if this is a one time deal or are they gonna play it by ear with the chance of multiple seasons if the viewers are high?

If Chloe isn't in it I'm gonna be pissed. Her and Pierce are like the 2 characters in a swarm of single/double/triple moles on 24 you always knew Jack could turn to in a bind.

Chloe is back.

I'd bet money it returns every year for 12 episodes if ratings do good enough.

I'm surprised so many of you can re watch the seasons. Maybe I should re try but I'm having trouble since I feel even good seasons had 1 or 2 dumb side plots that bug me.

13 episodes is probably the perfect size for 24. They have a tendency of throwing every idea they have on screen, hoping it will work. They then run out of ideas and do something stupid halfway through the season.

If you rewatch season 1 in particular, the show completely fell flat after 13 episodes and went to the god-awful amnesia storyline before it picked up at the end.

Same thing with the last season, where the non-sensical mole reveal would never have been needed if they properly paced the show instead going through all their good ideas in 13 episodes.

Some of my fav moments:

S1:
-jack saves Kim/Teri by himself basically. He capped it off by killing the guy in charge of the compound with this sweet slide which I used to think was the coolest thing ever.
-Nina is a mole! Due to the show making it a possibility that anyone could be a mole, it's really easy to forget how significant and mind-blowing this was.
-jack, thinking Kim is dead, raids the compound and takes out the drazens and their men alone. Iirc directly after they show mason on the phone learning what happened, his reaction sums up how awesome it was.
-Nina kills Teri. Another huge moment for the show. Really took it to another level of unpredictability, especially for a network show.

S2:
-jack cuts off that witness' head to get himself back undercover "that's the problem with you George, you want results but you're not willing to get your hands dirty" or something like that. Episode ends with jack shaving his beard and looking fiercely, albeit a bit darker, into the mirror. He's back!
-Nina beats Jack and holds him hostage, negotiating for a pardon for the murder of Jack Bauer. Some great acting by Palmer when he thanks Jack and Jack asks him to keep his daughter safe. Also bad-ass escape by Jack.
-the entire episode where jack volunteers to fly the nuke over the desert and sacrifice himself. Obviously he isn't dying before the show is over, but there's a great scene when jack tells Kim and then a better one where mason convinces him to be a real man, keep living, and fix his problems. RIP George.
-whole finale. One of my favorites for sure. Awesome fight scene at the football stadium, nice reconciliation between Jack and Kim, huge cliff hanger with Palmer being poisoned by crazy chick from s1.

S3:
-too many awesome moments to make a list. Best season by far for me. Basically 0 filler/dumb plots, Saunders GOAT villain for sure, and the end where jack breaks down crying is one of the first times we see how emotionally draining this job has been on Jack.

S4:
-Jack saves Audrey/father by himself. So awesome.
-Jack calls "the only person he can trust" Tony when CTU has been compromised.
-entire finale. Tony/Michelle reunite and the faking of jacks death was perfect. Phone call with Palmer with jack saying its been an honor and Palmer saying Jack Bauer is dead. Just great stuff. Definitely best finale of theirs.

S5:
-Palmer, Michelle, and Tony get got. Shocking stuff even for this show.
-Jack calls CTU from the airport and gives them intel. First time bill/Audrey heard his voice since he was presumed dead. Jack let's Bill know who's in charge.
-Jack raids the presidents place, gets help from pierce, brings down the bad chief of staff.
-ZOMG president is bad!
-jack getting to Logan, Logan's look of utter terror when he realizes what he's I'm for.
-jack gets captured by the Chinese.

Show really dropped off after this. Still entertaining but I'm not nearly as knowledgeable on the last 3 seasons. Jack Bauer forever GOAT tho, can't come back soon enough.

One thing I definitely forgot was an all-time great moment for me which actually came from whati thought was the weakest season, season 7. While the execution was poor (for 24 standards) I really loved the show addressing a main theme of the show- whether jacks results justify his actions. There are a few moments in the season that are just great dialogue and better acting by Kiefer, the first being when Jack comes to an understanding with Red Foreman (Senator Mayer on 24 for those who didn't watch that 70s show). And the second, the highlight of the season (maybe series?), comes at the end after Jack has once again saved the day and he says to Renee:

"I see fifteen people held hostage on a bus, and everything else goes out the window. I will do whatever it takes to save them, and I mean whatever it takes. ... Laws were written by much smarter men than me. And in the end, these laws have to be more important than the 15 people on the bus. I know that's right. In my mind, I know that's right. I just don't think my heart could ever have lived with it. "

Just perfect. Sums up Jack better than any other piece of dialogue in the show IMO and, of course, Kiefer kills it.

Same thing with his conversation with Heller at the end of Season 6 (which also was a really bad season).

Quote:
Jack Bauer: NO! YOU are gonna listen to me. Earlier today you said that I was cursed. That anyone I touched, ended up dead, or ruined. How dare you. How... Dare you. The only thing I did, the only thing I have EVER done, is what you and people like you have asked of me. Why didn't you try to get me out of China?

I like when he dropped the line "You owe me" to the President, when he could drop that to basically everyone all the time, but chooses not to.

Really making me want to watch the whole show again.

FWIW I think a moment that deserves to be up there with any list of the best 24 moments is Jack killing Ryan Chappelle. I think at that point I realised that literally nothing except the permanent death of Jack Bauer was impossible on the show, and then for a weird moment in the later seasons when Doyle was around I read a bunch of speculation which made me question even that. There's really a lot of modern TV storytelling that is owed to 24.
