On March 18, 2010, he was honored with the 2,403rd star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, in front of Grauman's Egyptian Theatre on Hollywood Boulevard.[58] Surrounded by friends including Jack Nicholson, Viggo Mortensen, David Lynch, Michael Madsen, family and fans, he attended its addition to the sidewalk six days later.[59]
As of March 23, 2010, Hopper reportedly weighed only 100 pounds (45 kg) and was unable to carry on long conversations.[60] According to papers filed in his divorce court case, Hopper was terminally ill and was unable to undergo chemotherapy to treat his prostate cancer.[61][62]
Hopper died at his home in the coastal Los Angeles district of Venice on the morning of May 29, 2010 at the age of 74, due to complications from prostate cancer.[63]
Hopper's funeral took place on June 3, 2010 at San Francisco de Asis Mission Church in Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico.[64] He was buried in Jesus Nazareno Cemetery, Ranchos de Taos.[65]
The film Alpha and Omega, which was his last movie role, was dedicated to him; as was the 2011 film Restless, which starred his son Henry Hopper.

While fans of 24 had been forced to resign themselves to the fact that they would almost certainly never see Jack Bauer's story concluded on the big screen, Deadline has now confirmed that Kiefer Sutherland has signed up to return as Jack Bauer in the recently announced limited series. The recent and unfortunate cancellation of Touch has obviously ended up being very good news for fans of the drama which aired between 2001 - 2010! An official announcement is expected to be made later today at Fox's upfront presentation, while Brian Grazer has already been confirmed as returning as executive producer. Be sure to stay tuned to CBM for further updates!
UPDATE: It has now been revealed that 24: Live Another Day (that's the official title) will air in May 2014 for 12 episodes. Fox chairman Kevin Reilly told reporters today on a conference call that plans for a movie have been scrapped as compressing the show to only two hours just didn't work. However, this limited series will only take place across 12 hours and while it WILL pan out chronologically, they will also skip hours. Apparently, the studio sees "franchise ability" in 24's return and it could return for another series in 2015.
