24 is my favourite show of all time

13 hours is about right imo, the last few seasons of 24 weren't really about 1 plot line...there was villian or plot that concluded around halfway, then you would find out the real plot afterwards

Been watching 24 the last few months. Just started S7. It's easily one of the most suspenseful shows I've ever seen. I'd pop huge if Kiefer did a cameo on Homeland, even if it was just as a total non-Jack Bauer throwaway.

Have to say one of my favorite things about 24 is its complete disregard for main characters (other than Jack and Chloe). It's somewhat refreshing to know when CTU/The White House has a conflict that anyone could die (that sounded schizophrenic lol). On most dramas if a bad guy has any main good guy in trouble, 99% of the time you know the good guy will get saved somehow because he/she is a main character who the show needs to continue. 24 killed off CTU agents constantly, making the show unpredictable.

I constantly get a kick out of how many log lines on Netflix contain the phrase, "When Jack escapes from (insert bad guy)..."

Weren't pretty much all of the seasons like this? There was always a guy behind the guy, no?

You forgot the guy behind the guy behind the guy. One or two season the final act was linked to the bad guys from the first two acts but not in cahoots.

The only season i can remember us meeting the main villain early was 4. We meet Marwan early on and he orchestrates everything that happens.

Good times. Bauer saving Audrey (sp?) and Heller (sp?) in S4 storming the compound on his own is some of the best action I've seen. Love it.

they could do the prequel about the victor drazen (dennis hopper) mission... which was the back story to the first season. that could be cool even though we all know how it ends.

it would be awesome because it would include both palmer and dennis hopper (best 24 villain)

it might be hard to make a prequel believable though... jack looked a lot younger in the first season than he does now. but i guess with make-up and that camo face paint stuff the army guys use... it might be believable.

also... one of the things i loved about this show was that i found it actually a lot more realistic than people gave it credit for.

i come from the perspective of a libertarian, alex jones conspiracy nut that thinks the US government is behind all sorts of terrorist attacks.

and in 24, it's often the case where people in the government are behind the attacks, or using the terrorists as pasties, etc. especially in season 2 using their terrorist pasties as justification for war in the middle east.

even to the point where the president is basically a terrorist responsible for attacks against the american people.

and in later seasons, the military industrial complex is fingered as terrorists as well... and they talk about a New World Order type of globalist secret group as well that is in control of everything. the whole shadow government stuff.

so i really enjoyed that aspect of the show. a lot of people from my political perspective hated the show because they thought it was propaganda against Muslims and promoted torture... but i believe that a lot of the stuff featured in some of the seasons is a lot closer to the truth than most "sheeple" would otherwise think.
