Most likely Spring though. They'll certainly have a break between Celebrity Jeopardy and the new format.

Going into final:

Yogesh: $23,800
Jimmy: $11,400
Katie: $25,600

Yogesh: Bets $999 (correct -- covers Jimmy's doubled score and Katie's wager to cover on a miss). Gets it wrong.
Jimmy: Bets it all, pretty hopeless spot anyway. Gets it wrong.
Katie: Gets it wrong, very close answer that just wasn't specific enough given the clue's phrasing. I remark "Ah, what a shame, she had to bet really big. Looks like another day of Yogesh." Wager is revealed... $2500. A new Jeopardy! champion is crowned.

Yogesh seemed pretty ticked. I bet he breathed a big sigh of relief once her answer was deemed incorrect, only to get the wind knocked out of him with the wager reveal.

Hard to tell if $999 is really better than $0. Not only because he would have won the game had he bet nothing.

Todays's final Jeopardy had 3 players correctly identify the only US state that starts with an "L" and incorrectly guessing the state between Missouri and Louisiana that starts with an "A".

Katie's wager yesterday of $2500 was odd but it worked for her because Yogesh didn't stand pat.

Today she proved she has no clue by betting $5000 of her $7400 against the leader who has $14000 thus giving herself absolutely no chance of winning

Can't disagree but I like how he played.

I regularly complain to my wife that opponents of multi-game champs play too timidly. I use the phrase "they have to take the board away from him/her."

He played aggressively. That's how you win. I loved it when the girl found the DD in DJ and he fist pumped. He was happy she found it and not the champ.

Plus, since I have a very smart grandson with Aspergers, I think this guy may be a bit on the spectrum.

And she was happy about it lol. I've met her at a Carolina Hurricanes game before. Didn't remember it until she talked about being a former Hurricanes cheerleader or whatever they call them. I remember she said she was from this area but went to Alabama.

So current champ was born in NY, lives in Portland… went to college in the UK and has a FULL BLOWN English accent?

I mean

Even if you went there at 18, lived there for 20 years I’m not sure you’d develop this strong of an English accent. Seems a bit pretentious now that I know this

Something that occurred to me for no good reason...

I don't think I've ever seen a wheelchair-bound contestant. Was wondering if they have easily-swappable lecterns.

Pretty sure they had contestants sitting on chairs in the past. That would work at least for some wheelchair-bound contestants.

hearing a local accent can get pretty infectious though

i once spent 2 weeks in east texas and started talking like the locals do for fun and before i knew it i was just always talking that way - must have been insufferable for people to hear that put-on accent

it wasn't until i caught myself still doing it after flying into nyc did i realize what i'd been doing

likewise, i've had english roomates and at times use their type of lingo just because it fits a situation better imo and that always sounds super weird to other americans like they think i'm just doing it to seek attention whereas when conversing with a room of englishmen it's totally natural and nobody thinks anything of it

so i could totally see how it could come about and how that's now just his default setting
