This is my first time seeing Ken host the show. His wealth of knowledge and experience on the show are evident compared with Mayim. He also seems to take more of a personal interest in what's going on, based on a lot of the quips he makes during the game. Mayim is a bit more detached and professional about her hosting. He's coming at it from a veteran player's perspective. It's like watching sports commentary from an ex-player, compared to a lifelong broadcast journalist. If I had to choose, I'd pick Ken to be the permanent host.

I agree that this new champ seems like Matt Amodio Mk II. Maybe not as knowledgeable but he's quick on the buzzer and is playing the same strategy. Jeopardy may be a solved game but 90% of the contestants don't play the correct strategy. Just like Matt though, he's no James Holzhauer and gets conservative with his betting once he establishes a big lead.

I'm fine with Ken or Mayim. Certainly Ken has a level of credibility that no potential host could match, but I could do without the amount of interjecting he does; he's more aggressive with inserting himself in between questions than she is, and I think the host needs to be mindful that their role is just to smoothly facilitate and not to be too dominating.

At the moment I think I like her a bit better for the job, but I like Ken and would be perfectly happy with it if they went with him.

IIRC, the intros are a little different. Miyam is introduced as "the host of Jeopardy!", while Ken is "hosting Jeopardy!". Seems like that wording makes her #1 and Ken the sub.

Blah. Disheartening to see Andrew go down to a challenger who played her DD so timidly.

First the dreaded “$2,000” on the DD, then the negative freeroll wager in FJ. She needed Andrew to get FJ wrong. That’s it. In the case she was wrong too, she would have had less than him. Terrible wager. I can’t figure out how or why she came up with $12k as a wager.

She said on Twitter she can’t believe she missed the Ezekiel answer because that used to be her middle name lol.

When they first showed her during the introduction, I thought to myself damn that’s an ugly woman lol. Then when she spoke I knew it instantly.

I know Jeopardy wants her to go on a long run. And I suspect the media coverage if she does could be huge.

My wife and I concurred that the champ has a Y chromosome.

She averages almost $37k over her first three games which is #6 all-time (higher than Ken Jennings or Matt Amodio) and highest ever for a female. James had 4 single game scores higher than that but that's a different issue.

She certainly has all the knowledge needed to knock over a bunch of tomato cans if that's what they continue to put in front of her. I still don't love her playing style.

Several weeks behind, just watched November 2. Tyler Rhode's 5th win.

Startlingly poor game sense by one of the challengers, Abby. They whittled down the single Jeopardy board to several $200 clues and one $400 clue remaining, with the lone Daily Double still on the board. She just immediately starts going after $200 clues, loses control and Tyler snags the $400 clue (naturally the DD) and he jumps out to his game winning lead.

Yeah, that was quite the change of pace from the night before, when I think the woman in the middle may have only rung in twice the whole game. If it was more than twice, it wasn't by much.

Is -6,400 a record? I can't think of any bigger negative number.

She rung in 5 times. 3 correct, 2 incorrect.

Definitely not a record. During LaVar Burton's week as guest host there was somebody at -7400. Might have been his first day of hosting which was a total train wreck anyway. I think they said that was the lowest ever but not 100% sure.

I also remember while the GOAT tournament was running in 2020 there was an interview with the lady who had the record back then. Pretty sure that was also lower than -6400.

They should send him a bill for $6400 otherwise there's really no jeopardy in ringing in with incorrect responses

French ambassador?

Yep. I believe she said "to" and not "of". Obv a wrong answer.

I'm very sure "Ambassador of France" would have been ruled correct.
