I realized today that I met Rachel over the summer when she worked at the Oregon Observatory at Sunriver. I didn't recognize her at the time, but figured it out when they said she was an astronomy interpreter.

No way I would bet against James.

That said, I would not be shocked if Emma beat him again.

I would be shocked if Francois won. The only reason he's in the final is that the FJ category was right in his sweet spot.

Of course, I want James to win to set up a Brad/Ken/James showdown.

i dont think francois is fast enough on the buzzer but he won't miss clues. He'll have to bink a daily double on the rare chances he has the board but if he does he'll have a chance. If Emma gets categories she likes she can hang with James just like she did in their other game.

James has the best knowledge base, best buzzer speed, his only real vulnerability is if he gets a DD wrong he thinks he'll know, but I think Emma and Francois will keep it competitive, or at least I hope.

i expect James to go HAM on d1. worst case he shoves DD and misses and ends d1 with 0, he still has a good shot to beat their totals with d2 alone. The guy got 110k in 1 game.

Yea. I suspect he plays day 1 like it’s a regular “cash” game.

If he has the chance to shove FJ and get to a number that’ll give him a chance to exceed $250k for two days I think he will. Won’t be as easy to get that big a runaway against this competition versus Jeopardy! “randoms” but it is possible.

James had a rare all-in DD miss, and still crushed easily. I give Emma credit for going all in on FJ and at least maintaining a slim chance heading into day 2.

I think his first game against Emma was one of the last games of the week. I am sure fatigue played an issue.

It took a perfect storm for him to lose and I don't think it was coincidental that Jeopardy put Emma in the game before he was about to break Ken's record. She is really good at every facet of Jeopardy.

I loved how Emma went right to the Physics category even though Francois is a Physics teacher.

She probably won't beat James this time, but that doesn't mean she shouldn't be considered as Jeopardy! elite.
