I'd take the u, mostly because if it was over 29.5 I'd still be happy.

Definitely under. He'll miss a shove and other players will hit their dds.

An interview I read today with him includes more than one instance of him referring to his run in the past tense. The question is, how many shows are already in the can?

I'd take the under.

it was 66181 - 11200

He could have bid 43780 giving him 109962 which wouldnt beat his score of 110914

Is there a real spoiler up there? If so could a mod (no clue who our mod is) excise it please?

Caught the last 10 mins on the road in the hotel tonight. He’s going to have the top 5 of all time to himself if he keeps going.

I’d almost rather see his wager first then his answer in these big runaways. $80k on the line-holy shrute!

i'm as anti-spoiler as they come, but that's not a spoiler. just ntnbo trying to stir up **** for no reason.

this is the (pretty good) article:

https://www.vulture.com/2019/04/jeop...aign=feed-full

in it, he briefly talks about his run in the past tense. but:

1) he's under a non-disclosure, so i doubt he's going to let something slip in a written interview.

2) taping has wrapped for the season. so he could still be going but using the past tense for that reason.

3) he might have just thought it was weird to speak in a present tense. that may have even brought on more scrutiny!

even if it somehow IS a spoiler and he IS confirming that he has lost, there are 53 episodes left to air that are already recording. so he could still get to 62 wins and ~$3.6m+. so, relax!

so his regular season coryat is now up at the 28k mark, just shy of ken's (through ken's first 9 regular season games). from memory of something i saw a day ago, that's like 20% above matt jackson, and more like 30%-40% above brad/ken/roger etc (again, looking at regular season games only). very impressive. i really feel like he's gotten a lot better at the buzzer in the last few games.

some good stats here:

Nice link. Lotta interesting comparisons, but this one stood out:

Total Net Gain On Daily Doubles:
(through 9 games)

Ken Jennings:
$21,200

crockpot:

Spoiler:

$181,285

Holy ****ing ****!

Also, 2nd in All-Time Regular Play Winnings and 6th in All-Time Winnings, in just 9 games is insane!

Didn't he tell Alex his pick for the Stanley Cup was the Lightning? Hopefully he didn't bet a significant amount of his Jeopardy winnings on that.

Did you guys know the episode for the day is available online around midnight the day prior. eg. tonights ep was available around midnight last night. i didn't know this until about two weeks ago. obviously as per thread title, no discussion until 6pm EST. would actually prefer 8pm EST since it airs at 730pm EST and usually i just watch it live.

I did notice that yesterday actually. The show airs at 730pm regardless of timezone in US i think, it comes on for me at 730pm PST

The spoiler rule has always been 8pm EST. The stuff I posted mid episode was while I was watching it. If you are on the west coast just avoid the thread for 3 hours. If you watched it before then don't post about it.

you could've downloaded tonight's ep like 14 hours ago and watched it then if you so desired

Nope, I know that's not the case because I am the reason for the spoiler time to be posted in the title.

Would be hilarious if James gets banned by Jeopardy due to him bankrupting the show.

Just saw it. Will make sure to stay clear for those 2 hours. Good call putting it in title, once he loses we can go back to a page of new posts every 2 weeks.

He's costing them more in winnings, but all the publicity he has brought to the show has to be +EV for them.

yup, noticed this during the team tourney, it's something that started relatively recently. i am watching them, but the only drawback is i then can't discuss with anyone for the better part of a day.
