I like the new champ Idiotic Jeopardy wagers (no spoilers before 6 EST) She smoked two good opponents, definitely has potential to win a bunch in a row.

She has a cute face. Would be interested to see more of the rest of her. Need to get those post-game discussions out in front of the podium again.

Tuesday's episode had some weird editing in it. Near the end of SJ, all that was left was the full category of "Denzel Washington movies by role". Alex announced less than a minute left, they did the $200 clue and then ran out of time, with quick scene cuts. I was really disappointed because I was looking forward to that one. I wonder what happened.

Sigh had hopes for our champ but bad wager in FJ. Has just over half of. 2nd when 1st/2nd are close. Pretty binary choice- shove trying to pass 2nd missing and wagering small or standing pat and hoping for the all too common overbet from 2nd. Instead she does something rando?

Adriana Ciccone: 5800-3201=2599
Elizabeth Goss: 13800-9001=4799 (new champ)
Ben Goldstein: 11400-10000=1400

Normally would like Elizabeth but six kids and homeschooling = religious nut job.

btw, couldn't believe none of them got FJ correct. That's two days inn a row I got FJ and everyone whiffed on it. (Yesterday: Andrew was the answer. My early exposure to religion came in handy, though I shed that crap years ago.)

not the ideal wager imo but not rando either

5800+3201 > 11400-2401 (ben's margin from first)

Thanks. I always miss that because first NEVER (or virtually never) bets 0 so my brain just ignores that number. If I’m 2nd I’m just doing 201 to lock out 3rd.

Oof. Young guy in grad school Friday wagered 6000 of 8200 on DD in DJ with nine clues remaining, leaving 2200 behind for no reason. Got it right to take the lead by I think 400. Still held a 200 lead going into the final clue, valued at 1600, and he rang in and got it wrong to fall into second. Then he and the new leader both got FJ right and she walked away with a big payday.

(I always skip the interviews so I missed this) - IME this translates to religious nutjob ~80% of the time, and it depends on the education of the parents; a fair number of parents (at least in USA#1, IME) do this for primarily academic reasons (with the intent to, say, have their kids complete HS by age 15-16). Geographic location matters too

What do you expect from the guy who in SJ, guessed a type of bird "puffin" for a word from the Italian for "joker or jester"?

Elena is down like 8K to 23K and there’s all $400 and $800 clues left, one DD, and she kept picking the $400 clues.

Was kinda enraging... But she finally got it and shipped 7K

Came back and won though to beat fat bearded Ewan McGregor

leader in FJ misses an LOL easy question.

To miss that, you have to a) not be a real Trek fan AND b) know nothing about Roman history.

I'm number 1. My first thought was "well obviously the other planet the answer refers to is Romulous." But had no idea that the race from Star Trek was called Romulans.

Felt real dumb when the question came up.

Well the Romulans originated on Vulcan. Like he said, he overthought it. I'm glad he lost though, I found him annoying, both his personality and the way he seemed to randomly jump all over the board.

You knew it was Star Trek related though, so that's half the battle right there.

haha, +1. I was like "probably not Vulcans, so maybe Klingons?" That's also the only ones I know I guess.

Last edited by madlex; 12-13-2018 at 04:20 PM. Reason: On second thought, I also know Borg. Do they qualify as a race?

lol at that guy choosing the $400 question when he knew that was very likely the last question.

Just catching up. The Romulans question game was damn exciting. $7000 get on a late DD and then the win in FJ. Felt bad for the guy who overthought Vulcans.

Alex did kind of goad her into betting big on the the DD. He made a clear point that the guy had a clear runaway game while she was deciding what to bet.
