Hate all 3 bets

1st-obvious
2nd-no need to give 3rd any chance. 801?
3rd- have to depend on overbet by 2nd. And if 2nd overbets, it’s is almost certainly going to be a near all-in. 3rd should stand pat.

re: the bolded. I'd agree 95%+ of the time, but not here. If 3rd has been paying attention, he has to expect a stupid timid bet by 1st, so he has to shove.

Still gross. Has to be a “too big” timid bet that even opens the door for third.

Sophie’s choice as to which opponent is going to make the worse mistake. The 1st place wager was certainly special.

Haven’t watched yet, sounds like it was obvious live.

There have been some REALLY bad FJ bets all week.

The worst thing about the champion going all in is that he had been wagering for the triple stumper all week, and then when he's in third and it makes sense to get for the triple stump, he goes all in. He has to be one of the worst betting champs ever

See, I disagree. If 2nd bets correctly, 3rd can't win by standing pat, and 2nd (until the dumb FJ wager) looks like she might bet smart, but 1st was clearly a wagering idiot based on the $200 DD bet in SJ.

Thinking more about it.

We always need second to screw up.

If first cover bets then we go small to not drop below 1st when he misses.

If we think first is going to screw up we need them to screw up twice by going small BUT not so small that we are locked out. We need a solo get.

Hmmm— a triple stumper is about a 3:1 favorite to a Solo get from 3rd. I can buy 4799. I don’t know how to estimate the bet sizing from first so I think I want to lock in the triple stumper but still give some chance of winning a solo get plus an “over-under” bet mistake from first.

It’s that 3:1 dog to get FJ correct that cinches it for me. 1sts bet is just too random and needs to be in such a small window to make going all in correct from third.

Nothing wrong with wearing them to the golf course.

Does anyone know what would have happened if he had answered ‘Google Earth’, got the money and then went on to win the game? Do they re-invite the other two contestants?
I tried to google to find out what would happen in a situation where both a contestant and the show come up with the same wrong answer that is therefore ruled correct, but couldn’t find anything. Does anyone have an idea?

Looks like Alex is being sued by some woman who was so scared by his dog she almost got hit by a car and now is a basket case.

I liked the “oh ****” guy and his all in bet on the DD towards the end of double jeopardy.

But I’ve been trying to think how he could have misread that final and switched to Carl Sagan. Maybe he was trying to think of an environmentalist since it used that word in the clue. I’m sure Sagan had environmentalist views but no way would he be associated on Jeopardy as one.

And because it’s this thread what the hell was the reasoning behind the random $4000 bet by the champ in final.

Ouch, crossing out the winning answer is brutal.

That guy was a dead ringer for Masuka from Dexter.

So on Thursday's game for the "Ten"ternainment answer:

In the U.S. this Agatha Christie mystery was known as "And Then There Were None"

What would they have done if someone answered "What is Ten Little N***ers"?

I remember watching a similar final jeopardy question where the right answer was "And Then There Were None" but remembered the original title was Ten Little N***ers just because it was more memorable. **** me if I was a contestant that day.

I was pretty sure that "Ten Little Indians" was what they wanted, but was absolutely certain that "Ten Little N***ers" was correct.

If I was on the show that day, I 100% pull a Randy Marsh. It would have been really uncomfortable by all parties involved.

Thinking about it, they probably pause the show and reshoot the response, forcing the contestant to say "Ten Little Indians". But I could imagine things downstream could be affected by a bizarre moment like that. Really terrible question from the writers.

Two women in a tie game at 14,200 and a guy that doesn’t seem to savvy sitting at 3,600.
One of the women is our underbetting champ.

I vote all ins by both challengers and 3,000 by the champ....

3,600-3599 meh. Need a triple stumper.
14,200 (challenger)-14,200
14,200 (champ)- 4,107

And it was a solo get from third so our undeserving wagering champ continues.

Last edited by danspartan; 07-16-2018 at 07:30 PM. Reason: Not enough imagination for 4,107

I honestly think 3rds wager doesn't really matter as long as he doesn't bet it all. The odds for one of the two leaders to not either bet it all or cover him, are pretty slim imo. How often does one of them bet 11k to allow him to stand pat and pass her?

The by far most likely scenario for him to win is to bet a random amount <3600 and win when the other two miss on a 14200 bet.

Through the years it is scary how many in tie situations bet all but $1 or similar. I think very recently someone bet all but $50 in the tie scenario.

So yes, because contestants have zero wagering sense, it does matter what third wagers. They would be best served wagering zero.

But after her wagers in previous games did anybody here really think she would wager everything?

Or the guy wagers zero and gets it right while champion bets 7001 gets it wrong and other lady bets all and misses..

They would have immediately cut to Wes, the black champ, for his reaction.

I told the girlfriend that there's no way she wagers everything and I hope it's a gimme FJ so she doesn't get rewarded again. Worst wagering three-day champ in a long time, and she keeps getting set up so she's rewarded for it. So frustrating. Also, maybe get your hair done before going on TV.

So satisfying to see her get punished for another stupid wager, likely costing herself a spot in the ToC. When I saw the all-in bet from second, I knew it was over.

Here's the explanation: https://www.jeopardy.com/jbuzz/featu...estant-returns. This win actually is his fifth. He's going for superchamp status Wednesday.
