On the previous show, he did mention when they came back from break at FJ that the contestants were so sharp and on their game that they had a lot of time left over and he had to fill that extra time going over the payout structure.

I assume for the vast majority of tapings they have to struggle to edit the show down to fit in the time slot. I think he was blown away by the kids' competence.

It was an exceptional episode.
Going into FJ it was Eric from Dartmouth at $10,200.
Thatcher from Oklahoma at $14,200
Hannah from Central Florida at$18,200

Eric had the lead for most of the match, but Hannah made a big surge and hit some High Value Q at the close. Thatcher ruled the buzzer and went on a couple of runs, but was a bit reckless and give it back. Hannah was getting owned on the buzzer and only able to ring in 19% of the time, but was money when she did get through hitting 14 for 14 and nailed some pretty hard questions.

Eric, shoves and binked FJ to take a brief lead. Thatcher did the same. Hannah bet to cover and won by one.

Grunchingnand catching up

Monday. If you miss the 8,000 DD wager you have such a small win chance might as well go big or go home. Then answering heart instead of kidney then not ringing in on the last clue. Alfred Hitchcock is a better guess than no answer. Then the shove in FJ.

Sigh. Had high hopes for my ‘neighbor’ from Swarthmore (10 miles away).

The ruling on the mispronunciation of Billy Corrigan is a horrible stupid bs ruling. Considering they almost always rule an answer correct for mispronunciation within reason, that was some serious nonsense.

Krishna had to be one of the most awkward contestants I've seen in awhile.

I’m one of the biggest Jeopardy rules nits there is, but it’s wrong... Corrigan vs Corgan
It’s not like trying to say a hard word like shmorgishborg and stumbling over it until you finally say it.

They never rule right for adding syllables or changing vowels, etc
You can’t say Bill Clanton, or Keith Richardson

Very glad to see Mr. "act out every response" go down in flames by missing a layup FJ. Most annoyed I've been by a contestant in a long time.

I'm not even joking, I actually thought his last name WAS Corrigan, and until last night assumed one pronounced all 3 syllables but he really pronounces it Corgan. And now I'm seeing that that's actually his last name. I'm freaking the **** out right now. Major Mandela Effect happening to me.

I gotta sit down.

Great bet by 2nd tonight. 12,800-10,600-5,200 and she bet 0 from 2nd keeping 3rd Locked out on a solo get from 3rd. Hopefully it was on purpose.

Ha! I actually assumed you must have thought it was Corrigan... but wasn’t 100%

Translated from Roman numerals, “55” appears in luggage & watch product names from a company founded by this man
In most other TV game shows, players have no idea that 55 is LV but would know what LV stands for. At Jeopardy, all players know 55 is LV but not even the female contestant knows what it stands for. First I was kinda shocked because I thought the question was super easy, but then I started to think it made perfect sense. Jeopardy players are probably as interested in fashion and $5k bags as they are in sports.

Disagree, fashion questions are regulars on the show and honestly they are not missed as much as I would expect.

So um yeah. Have to admit to going to the King of Prussia mall 4/5 times a month in the winter months to just go for a walk with the Mrs. The new high end connection has an LV store or I might not know about the name. We are much more likely to cruise Dicks sports or LL Bean than the Gucci’s etc.

So I’m either pathetic or I’m one 1/2 of those middle aged and older couple interviewed in When Harry Met Sally.

Very surprised it was a triple miss. 3rd screwed the pooch. Could have easily bet small there and won. Kudos to 2nd.

Disappointed that the ATC from my city lost because she made a stupid bet. Hope she doesn't make dumb mistakes at work. My house is 1.5 miles from the end of a runway right on approach path.

What's up with that move he's always doing with his hands?

For some reason, I found him immediately likable.

Me, too. I don't find him annoying at all.

I almost always skip the interviews, but caught one where he said his high school mascot was the tiger and he plays piano for charities or something dressed as a tiger. I think he’s doing a tiger thing.

Thanks. It seems a little less weird given that context.

Typical awful wagers in the teachers tournament. The final wild card was only 5600. There were two women who entered FJ with 12k and then missed because one bet 10k and one 8k. But the worst one was Monday in the semifinals. Leader had 14900 and woman 12600, but the guy wins on a triple stumper because the woman bet an even 10k. Notice any common theme here?
