It was quite the week for bad bets.

What's up with them not accepting "end around" on yesterday's show? That football play is never referred to as an "end run", it's always referred to as an "end around", and "end around" also fits the other part of the clue, as it's a commonly used phrase.

Also, feels like Trebek is going senile, he's mispronounced multiple common words lately ("advertisement" on yesterday's show).

I was about to post that there was a discussion on JBoard about that clue but I think you know that already, hehe.

LOL yeah, lurk JBoard but registered there just to discuss this. Pretty crazy that the hardcore Jeopardy fans just can't admit when the clue crew makes a mistake.

He pronounced it the British way, right? Which may also be the Canadian way, which is where he is from.

Also he got the champ's name wrong. He called him John Nguyen

Yeah, didn't realize the Brits pronounced it differently. Can't remember what the other word was recently, but maybe that was the case for that one too.

He's definitely had issues with names though this season, think there have probably been a half dozen times where he got someone's name wrong.

This Chantelle is frustratingly slow, and looks terrified

Alex pronounced "genre" really strangely.

He typically overdoes French pronunciations.

Good job in FJ by Chantelle today making pretty much the worst possible wager (except for all in I guess). Brings third into play for no reason and bet too much to win if the leader misses a cover bet. Awful.

LOLW you can't even do the math to hold back 401?

Chantelle Schofield: 16500-16250=250
Bala Kumar: 16700+16300=33000 (New Champ)
Phyllis Gilbert: 2400-2399=1

Chantelle was terrible. Glad she's done. Really wanted a champ with only $400 but 33k nice payday for them

3rd made a terrible wager there too

1st offered the tie (if 2nd shoved). Horrible as well.

And yes, 3rd shouldn't have bet big. 2nd really shouldn't have opened the door for 3rd.

All three players were slow choosing the next clue. Grand total of $3,400 wagered on DDs. On the penultimate clue leader is up 900, wagers 900 with a 1600 clue remaining. Dude, 800<X<900 to guarantee the lead. Certainly shoving a $800 DD clue to lock game would never enter his mind.

Whole game was an abortion.

Apparently there's an FJ wager on tonight's show that is one for the books. Can't wait.

Wow...

1st- $12,000
2nd- $7000
3rd- $4800

The guy in 1st bets $2001 to cover. Woman in 2nd bets... $1,000!

Could have easily killed myself on the treadmill, but somehow I expected it. At least it actually was an instant karma moment.

Wow, it delivered. Was she really betting to lock up that extra $1K for second?

Edit- nvm, thought third had $2800, not $4800. Really wtf.

Oh and also in before ntbo comes in super hot with his "women be miswagerin" take.

My mistake, 3rd did have $2800. So she was "playing for 2nd".

I'm really at the point of wondering if there is a huge crop of contestants who a) are really bad at math, b) are so overwhelmed they don't want to win, or c) don't know the rules and think non-winners keep their final amount.

Bala seemed like a miserable prick, bored and annoyed to have to speak.

I enjoyed when he lost the will to live after missing 2nd DD.

Guy in first gets FJ correct after 2nd and 3rd both guess wrong.

Alex: You are right, and if you risked enough...

Had to rewind 3 times to make sure I heard and understood correctly. We call that "pulling a McCain" these days.

Alex had a tough week. At least twice he had to correct himself after telling a contestant a wrong answer was correct. Could he be gone after this season?
