Did you see what he did on the DD the clue immediately before that? HE GAVE UP THE LEAD!! For no appreciable benefit. Then he ****ed up FJ on top of it.

And it's easy to say "just guess SOMETHING!" but unless it's a category like U.S. States or whatever, it's often not easy to even conjure a viable answer.

Yes! i always want ppl to bet big but i knew none of them knew **** about ceramics and there were like 2 clues left on the board just wager $200 and keep the lead!

I snap got Dover, but I'm an American history nerd. People forget it took us a decade or so after the Rev War to become a country? 2/3 guessed states over capitals so maybe people are just dumb. I'll get myself on jeopardy someday.

Just to put the details down for Wednesday's show: Entering FJ 14800 13600 700. Second wagers 12000. As was mentioned before, this was after he wagered himself out of first on second-to-last-clue DD (actual last clue) for no reason. And then he crosses out Albany and puts New York when clue asked for a state capital. Bonehead trifecta.

Just because someone wagered correctly from second in a non crush game?

Oh wait- given the crop of crap wagers over the past couple of weeks, fantastic IS allowed.

(I was expecting a tiebreak question or maybe even a cliff clavin wager after I saw this post).

Ya just how low the standard has been compared, and the fact that I only got double jeopardy and final due to inauguration crap and wasn't expecting anything.

More dumb wagers

Champ in 2nd with 12,600 trailing leader with 17,200.

Champ wagers 4,601 (cause passing 1st??)
Leader wagers 8,000 (needlessly offers tie).

Both miss.

How hard is it to google "how to bet on Jeopardy" once you know you are going to play?

Offering a tie is a good move if you see yourself as far superior than the other person, but I've heard this is frowned on by producers.

co-champions no longer allowed. If the scores are tied at the end of FJ they have an additional clue. First to buzz in and be correct wins.

so if you buzz in and are incorrect the other guy still has to be correct or they ask another?

I think normal J! rules apply. If you are wrong, your opponent has a chance. If neither gets it, then new question.

In practice (tournaments historically), its been an easy question, so essentially a buzzer race.

(one suspects that they would edit it for only the winning clue to be shown as they are at the end of the show and don't have time to add in multiple questions).

Apparently the producers thought too many ties were occurring in fall 2015, so they made the change.

He was pretty good the first two games (wagering and DD hunting aside), might have lost focus on this one. His DD bet on the Pellegrino clue was obviously terrible.

Lol what a geeky girl in librarian glasses can accomplish! I'm with her too, but we acknowledge buzzing in on the final Q when she was probably <70% to get it right was suboptimal strategy, no?

Two! She's strong on the buzzer and is not a spaz. If she doesn't hit a buzzsaw, TOC seems within reach.

I was shaking my head when they gave Joe the correct for FredericTOWN. Relieved when they corrected it just before his daily double to royally screw him over.
